If you weren’t actually hiring for a position why the hell did you interview me, tell me you wanted to hire me, and then use some shitass excuse a day later about restructuring the company? Wouldn’t you have known that before you wasted 4 hours of my time and let me say no to the other jobs I had lined up? —Interview this

I hate the interview process! it’s just brutal, seriously… and it’s often a total waste of time, you’re right. I had one company interview me 3 times, in NB, so that’s days off work, etc, etc, then they move the position to Saint John. I mean, WTF? Who wants to work in Saint John! Ugh.
Who says that there’s no work around here? Here’s someone that has multiple job offers on the table.
You jumped the gun OP. Until you’re sitting with HR filling out all those pension forms, employee confidentiality forms, payroll forms, etc. you likely don’t have a job.
I have seen this before; usually the bean-counters and higher-ups won’t say anything about cuts until people start getting called in an office… and walking right out of the building. I saw a guy leave a job for another one and the company went tits up about 8 days later.
I 100% agree with Sebastian on this one. (shakes my head…did I really just write that?)
You rejected other job offers because you had an interview….WTF?
“use some shitass excuse” – they were being nice, instead of giving the real reason.
Yeah I’ve seen it happen and it’s happened to me a billion times; even if they tell you you’re hired and give you a schedule, until you actually start filling out forms you are not hired.
WTF? Why would you “say no to the other jobs” when clearly they were secured while this was an INTERVIEW! No fucking wonder they decided to restructure the entire organization just so they would not have to HIRE a twit like you!
Someone’s been into the kooool-aid!!!!

unless the person doing the interview was the owner, shit happens fast, sometimes too fast for them to know, from one day to the next. think of hockey or baseball leagues here o.p., and you will know what i mean.
Unless/until you have a letter of offer from the company and/or your hire papers filled signed, you do not, in fact, have a job.
It sucks, OP, but you jumped the gun here. They may well be restructuring, or they fed you an excuse, however until you have that position secured do not assume it is your’s.
“4 hours” what were you being interviewed for? Jebus.
Sometimes you have to travel for an interview and that eats up some time.
While I think it’s dumb to turn down other jobs because of a promise of one, this is a legit bitch. But, do you really want to work for a company like this, OP? You’re better off in the end.
