Now how boring would that get…
That ” sport ” has always been a pre rehearsed dance. The fact that roids might be( read are ) involved is a decision those juice monkeys took all on their own. Trying to keep up with the Jones’s and all that muscle laden bullshit. There will never read NEVER be a drug screening process in that circus. BTW PPL, if you edit your post, more than likely it won’t make it up. Might be a Beta glitch. Tim, you have any commentary on that flaw?
Woah, I didn’t know you could edit posts.
I wonder what explodes first after years of steroid use – their pumpkin arms or their pine nut brains.
I’d say their nutty little balls.
TTFN it probably is the heart, after a user uses they have no ” down there” pine nuts to cotended with.
And of course using roids and collecting $20.000.000+ for playing baseball is ok.
The wrestler in question not only retired last year but had been out oof the WWE for about 3 years.
true dat, and the WWE have a drug screening policy.
Last year several wrestlers were fined one month without pay and taken out of the story lines… and repeat offenders contracts were terminated.
(chris masters, mercury, william regal, rey mysterio, randy orton, edge, davy boy smith’s son, etc…)
They also now publish the names of the offenders on their website which doesn’t do much for their fan base.
I find this interesting, mostly due to the fact that wrestling isn’t real. If this was a case like Baseball’s where it actually increases your performance, it becomes a bigger issue, however, with wrestling, it becomes less important, because you’re not worried about competing in an international competition. That said, all I worry for is their families and the potential ‘roid rage.
I’m pretty sure the ‘roids in this case aren’t for those exceptional moments in sports where you need to dig down deep… but more for duration and maintenance.
If you put on 20 extra pounds of muscle, it’s not going to be as hard to go through the motions and suplex a guy 4 nights a week.
I feel more for the families, like Fever said. Doesn’t anyone remember the deadly Chris Benoit tantrum from last year?
The problem with all these performers using roids is that it bulks them up to the point of immobility. This leads to boring matches, and of course the high death rate.
Wrestling isn’t real???
The Benoit thing had nothing to do with steroids. It was related to multiple concussions and a build up of protein on his brain making it similar to an elderly dementia patient. The Sports Medical Institute or some such organization studied his brain comparing it to a number of former NFL players who had suffered concussions and also had violent demises. I believe there was a Fifth Estate episode on this which was fascinating.
Benoit’s toxicology showed that he had steroids, anti depressants and muscle relaxers in his system at the time of death.
Besides, the most recent passing (Andrew “Test” Martin) was not a WWE performer for nearly 2 years.
Plus, WWE has steroid and drug testing for years. Vince McMahon nearly went to jail for it. Look up their wellness policy.
The WWE has a health and wellness program that includes regular drug screening. If drugs or any steroids are found, a competitor will be taken off TV until they get their s*** in order. If they refuse, they get fired.
Clearly there are those who have done so in the past that are still around, John Morrison for instance, but that’s only because they stop doing it and pass testing.
