Dear Absentee Slumlord,

I’ll admit, you got me good. I thought I’d found my dream apartment. Funny how you forgot to mention the place was full of toxic mold. You must be a very forgetful man because you also forgot to pay the water bill and now we have no running water. I know you’ll never see this but I hope every person in Halifax looking for an apartment does. I’m moving out but, before I go, I’m leaving a letter of warning for prospective tenants. To everyone looking at apartments in the north end, check on top of the fireplace mantel in the bedroom. I left you a note explaining all the problems I had with the apartment/landlord (just be sure to leave the note there for those that may come after you). —Mad and Moldy

  1. “just be sure to leave the note there for those that may come after you.”

So, do you think the landlord – when showing the place – won’t find it or take it?

  2. THE BUSY NOTE-WRITER

That must have been exhausting. How many notes did you have to write?

    A pleasure as always.

    Cheerio!

  3. OP your landlord sounds like the same slumlord I rented from in Dartmouth last year.
A piece of advice, move before the cold weather arrives or you’ll be smelly and cold. That’s if your place has hot water heat.

  4. Anyone remember that crazy person who used to post huge nonsensical rants and talked about being a landlord ? Yeah, bet that’s this person’s landlord. (The person who was always like ‘hey SHITman…’ (lol they were so articulate!))

Also, there must be a better way of doing something about that apartment than just leaving a note for the future tenants’ that the landlord’s going to find!
