I know I am lucky to have a job but why is it that although I work my ass off and apparently I am doing an extremely good job can someone swoop in and potentially be hired at the same pay as me or more?
Why do some managers not see through a resume that someone has obviously padded? Why why why?
Although I know I am lucky to have a job I have been working very very hard for a promotion and it is sickening to think that some one could swoop in, fudge their experience and get away with it. —I know I’m whining but whatever

because it has either been padded too good, or it’s all true. some people are far better than others, really.
OP, at some point your superiors are going to realize this person doesn’t have enough experience to do the job, or they do have the experience and they’re going to be great at it. Sometimes people may not have years of experience on their resume, but the experience they have is intense and they have learned a lot from it. If you’re working your butt off and not getting the credit for it, I say look elsewhere. You can afford to be a little picky since you are still employed.
you’re only worth what you can negotiate for.
learn to over-sell yourself all the same and you’ll find the $$$ come your way.
resumes mean nothing. it’s all about the person and how well they can woo the interviewer.
maybe it’s your personality..
there’s a person who I work with that is really on top of things and clearly knows the most about the company, but they recently hired someone to take a position above them
the person who got the position might not know exactly what to do but is laid back, kind and this actually increases productivity.
I’m going to make an assumption here (because OP is obviously a hard worker) that you are a bit tense at work.
try being less uptight and see how that works.
then suddenly you’re the girl/guy who KNOWS everything and has the right ATTITUDE
then your co-workers will see you in a new light.
Try not to bad mouth the new guy/girl who got the position
oh, and the other person who said “they will eventually realize this person doesn’t have enough experience”.. I disagree with that.
can’t elaborate anymore than that right now because I’m lazy.. but just from life experience I disagree
It’s generally a “who you know” atmosphere
Totally more about who you know, who likes you, and your attitude than what you know and how hard you work. That’s the world we live in today. Besides, who wants to work with that bland as hell know-it-all fucking keener anyway?
