I wanna bitch about how we work for years at our jobs and pay into disabilities BUT as soon as something happens to us that we need to draw on it GUESS WHAT we get the complete fucking run around and wait and wait and wait after months of getting therapy being out of work on doctors orders and guess what they deny your claim because they feel your not sick enough….WELL THEN STOP TAKING MY MONEY THAT HAS BEEN COMING OUT OF MY PAY CHECK FOR YEARS AND PAY IT BACK TO ME. This is also to state that your workplace that you have given years of service does not even call you at home to see how you are doing. I work for a very reputable company that I thought was the cats meow and advertise how they truly look after their employees because they are a home base company ….well i have re thought my meows and now think they suck….. To all my fellow co workers god forbid you ever fall ill….what goes around comes around in this world and i pray every day for just that.

AMEN BROTHER (or sister!)
I think we just may work for the same company…..
I agreed with you until that last sentence. So, because you became ill and your company has not been forthcoming with disability insurance, you hope your fellow employees get sick?
That’s a petty, ugly point of view and I’m willing to bet that there’s a lot more to this story than you’re letting on. Maybe what goes around has already come around.
I am pretty sure ” God Forbid you ever fall ill” means he/she hopes it doesn’t happen, and is referring to the company about “what goes around comes around.
company 1
you 0
oh, and LOL.
Excuse my Phrase …I wasn’t emplying that statement to the employees as you might have thought i was implying it to the carrier of my medical insurance…sorry if you read that i guess i was venting and should have been a bit clearer on who i wanted this to go around to 🙂
DeeBee, it is common practice to reject claims on the first go around. You need to appeal. Make sure that you have ample paperwork supporting your claim. It’s not nice that they do this to sick people, but I think they count on the fact that you’re not up to a fight when they do this.
Insurance companies and workman’s comp do this as a way of weeding out the less serious claims. If they tell you you aren’t injured then they count on you going back to work because they give you no apparent options. Au contraire. The next step is to appeal their decisions with your doctor’s support until you get the result you want. It does not happen ovenight but the fight is worth it. Unfortunately this is how the system works. Blame it on the malingerers. Good luck OP.
Wow hali, stomp on some kittens while you’re at it 😛
Yeah, I’ve had experience with this certain workplace disability organization…they didn’t deny my claim, but told me that since they take like 2 or 3 days out of every 5 days they pay and I missed 2 or 3 shifts (I can’t remember) I didn’t qualify for anything.
WTF? They’re essentially taking 40% of your benefits if they take 2 days pay out of every 5 days pay…I mean my case was only minor and, like I said, I only missed 2 or 3 shifts, but really, what’s the point?
