Dear Female MIsogYnist;My first response to your post was anger. But the unpleasant truth is that you are right. A lot of women, maybe even most women, are as you describe. However, I would suggest that women, for many generations, have been trained from birth to see other women as The Enemy. Boys and men are encouraged to co-operate even while they compete with each other. But most of our society sees a group of women working together in camaradarie as suspect. I am reminded of an incident in university when a couple of women who were running for student union dared to present a united front. They were ridiculed, called “Thelma and Louise”, labeled as lesbians, etc. This seemed to be changing for a while. But now we seem to be sliding back to where women see other women as competition to be crushed. I can’t speculate about what is causing this reversal. But attitudes like yours, Misogynist, do not help. Why don’t you think about trying to pass on your values to some young girls, maybe by volunteering at a Boys and Girls club?
Dear FM You’re so right. I’ve worked with both groups and I’ll take working with a bunch of guys anytime over working with women. There are exceptions of course. I’ve worked with a couple of guys who were worse gossips and more underhanded than any woman I’ve ever met. The difference is that you can bitch slap the guys back to reality. Coyote.
