What the FUUUUUUUUUUCK Halifax??????? Seriously? A winter parking ban? Average snowfall in Montreal last December, January and February? 221.1 mm! During the same time in Halifax? 44 mm! In Montreal, the plows come through residential streets in the day-time and blow the horn a dozen times. If you don’t come out and move your car, then it gets towed to another block. Why, in a city that gets more ice and rain than snow, do we FORCE parked cars off the residential streets at night (which is the main time when the RESIDENTS are HOME and need to PARK their fucking CARS!!!!!) I hate the winter parking ban. FUCK YOU HALIFAX WINTER PARKING BAN! FUUUUUUUCK YOOOOOOOOOU!!!!!!

  1. You must mean centimetres.

Also, to be serious, we get enough snow so that the roads do need to be cleared and, worse, we get all kinds of rain and ice on top of the snow so that if it’s not cleared right away it cements and will be around until may.

  2. And in Montreal, if you don’t get the courtesy honk, they bury your car in snow. Remember, TO and Mtl have similar legislation, they just don’t enforce it. Get your fucking car off the street. or you get ticketed. Just another ticket that dumb people get, just like parking tickets and speeding tickets.

  3. jennier, I think the stats listed were correct.
As an AVERAGE I would be VERY surprised if there were 44 centimeters of snow last winter. 4 and a half at any time on the ground sounds a little more accurate.

‘Course, as averages go, hope you aren’t unlucky enough to base your estimate on one of those freak blizzard days we had. The good days are pretty good but the bad days are pretty terrible.

  4. I’m beginning to think all the ban-bitchers are more than a bunch of retards — they’re the retards of the retards. FUCK.

  5. zZz— we had snow for most of the season. We had something like 15 recorded storms, all of which left serious amounts of snow on the ground. Then it stayed. You’re right, averages are not a good indication of what happened over last winter.

  6. let’s hope we stay out of the ‘teens this year.
none of that ‘3 storms in the same week’ crap.

I’ll never forget that mon/wed/fri. It was the cold, wet, dreary walks to and from work that just sucked the life outta me. I mean, I’m all for snow, but spread it around a little.
