To the person who picked up my grocery bag containing 4 bottles of wine. I hope you still have it in safe-keeping and can return it to me.

…. I forgot the bag beside my car in the parking lot at the Dartmouth Farmer’s Market Saturday morning. I was grief-stricken, on my way to a wake with said wine, and not thinking too clearly.

You can drop off the wine the NSLC at Alderney landing: One Puyfromage, 2 Apothic Red, 1 Castaldo. They are expecting you. —still crying into my cups

  1. No offense OP, but no matter how grief stricken, if you left your grocery bag behind this is your fault. I wouldn’t hold out hope that your wine will be returned – you made someone’s day and those bottles are probably empty now.

Im sorry for your loss, OP.

  2. D’you person suppose the OP was grief-stricken over the loss of the person whose wake they were going to; not the loss of the wine? And that maybe, just maybe, that preoccupation caused them to forget the wine.

Sorry for your loss, OP, but you’d best forget the grape, because, man, it’s gone.

  3. you never know. it would be great if the OP comes back to tell us that the bag was turned in and thus returned to him.

my mother would have picked up the bag to make sure a person of negotiable ethics didn’t get tempted by it, and would be making every effort to find the owner. ditto my brother. and me. my sister…..not too sure about that one.

I suspect a couple people who frequent this forum would do the same.

  4. I’d return it. Easy for me, I don’t imbibe but I’d return it (lost and found if they have one) anyway.
Easy on OP, it’s really easy to forget things when emotionally distraught.

  5. That’s hopeful. Four bottles of wine, or any booze for that matter, lost around Alderney is as good as gone. Some bum has drunk it already, you can bet on that. Sorry for your loss.
