Just reading in one of the other posts about this woman who spent $40 on hand creme. She is but one of millions of women yearly who hand over their cash for expensive moisterizers (hand, face, eyes. This last one kills me because the more you rub anything around your eyes, the baggier they will get) only to feed the CEOs of these so-called cosmetic companies. When are you females going to clue in that the cheap shit is just as effective as that expensive ‘promise to make you look young and dewy” garrbage? Studies proved a long time ago that the ingredients in the expensive crap was basically the same as the much, much cheaper stuff. I cannot believe women actually swallow these false promises of eternal youth, it’s all horseshit ladies and you’re swallowing it all hook, sink and sinker. Get a clue and save your bucks.

A Women Who Clued In A Long Time Ago

  1. I’m the one who bought said hand cream you’re bitching about — and just to let you know, it’s prescription stuff that I have to pay for myself because I don’t have a drug plan. So fuck off with your assumptions plzkthx 😉

  2. you are entitled to your opinion, but that’s all it is, an OPINION, there is a difference between drug store and department store products, its called QUALITY. i will not buy a sweater from walmart because its chepp and won’t last, and i won’t buy cheap hand lotion, cus its cheap and doesn’t work. oh, and by the way, you aren’t supposed to “rub” cream on your eyes, you are supposed to “pat it gently”. having nice things doesn’t make me stupid, it makes you jealous.

  3. See, what the OP doesn’t realize is that sometimes the more expensive stuff is the only stuff that will work/provide good results for a certain individual. For YEARS I tired almost every skin care product out there — cheap and expensive and the ONLY thing that doesn’t ruin my skin (and actually works wonderfully) is clinique’s type 2 three step skin care. It’s about 75 bucks a pop (lasts for at least 5 months+), but is the ONLY thing that works well on my skin. Further, clinique’s the ONLY brand of make up that doesn’t irritate my skin either (I’ve tried every brand out there from channel to cover girl). So, before you judge people for buying “expensive” shit, maybe you should realize that you don’t know everything, and if cheap shit works for you, great, but that’s not the case for everyone. Some of us HAVE done our homework.I’m in my late 20s and get comments on my skin all the time — I’m told all the time I look like I’m in my late teens. So OBVIOUSLY the clinique is working.

  4. what happened to my post? anyway here is a rehash.two trains of thought on this. there are people in society that have a desire to pay more for stuff. always has been. if you can buy 90 dollar jeans, they will want to buy the same jeans for 200. it makes them feel that the jeans and they themselves are better.next train says that some people just dont react well to cheap shit…like the cream for instance..maybe it doesnt work for them or their skin doesnt tolerate the life, equate. exact, etc. brands. no big deal.my opinion is do what the hell makes you happy. if you need/want to spend more, then by all means…go nuts. and if you look good doing it…all the better.

  5. Well I have done my homework, too. I tried the expensive stuff and it burned my skin, not to mention my wallet. Now I use the less expensive stuff and it works perfectly. But do you know works best? Drinking lots of water, not smoking, not drinking and not baking in the sun. I am in my late 30s and people tell me I look 10 years younger. So the cheap stuff and some free stuff, too, works just as well.

  6. I like to splurge from time to time because it’s fun, not because I am stupid. We all have our thing- for some it’s expensive hand cream, others like me go for expensive shampoo… whatever- maybe you enjoy splurging on an $18 hamburger whereas for me that would be a waste because I think a burger is just a burger. But I wouldn’t call you stupid if you disagreed.
