Why do people continue to drink and drive???? After all the publicity on the horrific events that these situations have caused – WHY THE HELL IS IT STILL HAPPENING!!!! A wonderful co-worker was killed by a drunk driver just over a year ago. The perpetrator was sentenced to five years in prison yesterday. Nobody wins!!!!!! —Think Before You Drink!!!!!!!!

Another wonderful example of justice occurs when the Texas justice system puts mentally-challenged people to death.
Now, the Bible says something to the effect of an eye for an eye, a tooth for tooth. Not a big fan of that dictum either.
What IS appropriate? That’s a bigger discussion than this board can handle. Either way, we need to have it so that we ALL can say justice was served.
AN INCOHERENT QUESTION
To ask WHY WHY WHY??? in respect to drinking and driving is incoherent since the question is a demand for reasons and no reasons can be given why people drink and drive. It is an irrational act.
Unfortunately, it is part of human nature to act irrationally.
It’s like asking, “Why go to war?” That also is an incoherent question for which no reasons can be given.

because too many people are self absorbed idiots who don’t care what impact their actions have on anyone or anything else. and if they get caught after killing someone and cry ‘oh woe is me!’ they are still being self absorbed. upset about having to go to prison or whatever. not about the utter finality of the death they have caused.

Not sure about stats, but it seems people who do drink and drive don’t just do it once, unless they are killed on their first go. Even when they are caught, once they do their time some tend to repeat the action. Scary roads we got to travel.

my real thoughts on drunk driving/ killing someone. is that the driver, should be made by a court imposed sentence, to a life of servitude to the victim’s family, for life
