I notice on most nights spotlights are aimed up in the Halifax sky for all to see (cloudy or clear) – will someone explain what the actual purpose of this is for? —Haligonian

  1. Just the local Johnny Canuck Battalion practicing air-raid drills for when the ‘murcans launche “Operation – Enduring Canadian Bacon”.
    >; )

  2. barrington delta used to do that every night….
like moths to a flame they expect it to draw people in.

  3. Hmmm… I could swear this bitch has costumed itself with the properties of a simple general inquiry. Unless said bitcher lives in the clouds and these spotlights keep him/her awake at night.

  4. Having worked at the casino for a number of years I can assure you it’s not the casino. Metro Centre maybe?

  5. Maybe they are from the airport! as they are used by some airports to determine the height of the cloud base

  6. NiceGoin….why are you following those lights to the Hill? Are you finally coming out as gay? Finally….we all knew it! See you in the gay pride parade next year. Wear your muumuu and feather boa.

  7. While I’m not defending NGF’s comments on the board, I will say that your constant negative comments towards women is what spawned his rash of homophobic comments. And I agree to an extent: why is it that it’s OK to trash “breeders” and for some gay men to trash women (and some lesbian women to trash men) when it’s considered a hate crime to say negative things against the LGBT community? Both are equally tasteless, but it’s always seen as acceptable to bash straight people. What gives?

  8. PK I agree with you. Also, Sebastien, you’re an incredible jackass who constantly puts down fat people, why is this ok? Is it ok because you aren’t fat? Not all people are fat because they’re lazy and eat too much. I know a girl who had to go on steroids because of a brain tumor and she gained about 60 pounds. She got A LOT bigger than what she had been and was fat. This was not her fault, but unless you were actually told why she gained the weight you would never know. So, while I COMPLETELY disagree with using ANY homophobic slurs, regardless of the reason or your “true” feelings, Sebastien, you’re no better than NGF.

  9. There wasn’t even anything bad with my last comments. I love sebastian’s crybaby mentality. Even oldhand put up with more than this bitch did. Fuck, even kay puts up with more shit.

Congrats, sebastian, you’re the new kay. And the new oldhand. Trust me, earning those titles are better than a 10″ dick.

  10. I wouldn’t worry about the comment Fat…
I have special, clairvoyant powers that tell me it’ll be up for at least a little bit.

oh, and I got to meet birdie today!
    she recognized me….
    HA HA

  11. Ha, right on, Z3!

Nah, sebastian’s already probably calling HRPD on 911 to report “NGF’s latest hate speech.” Or trying to get my plate numbers to report me as a threat to public society. I wonder if the cops will ask, “Is this NGF straight?”

  12. My last comment was that it’s a myth that gay men are fashionistas. It’s got to be hate speech, PF. Or threatening somehow; can’t let the truth get out that gay men aren’t the best fashion designers but women are. *GASP*

  13. I think the question is what did YOU think? I’m the lunatic here….

    I must say, Fat’s right.
    you’re pretty nice.
    🙂

  14. i just said nice. 🙂
really though, not even close to the ‘lunatic’ you claim to be.

not that you couldn’t have your moments. i certainly do.

  15. We had a couple of them outside the doors of the Cunard Centre for a couple of events last week. They are just another form of light polution…wouldn’t want anyone in the city to actually see the stars !

  16. I think it was the
    ‘oh nice’,
    ‘that’s nice’,
    ‘you’re nice’,
    talk….

and Fat, hit on her all you want, she’s been taken long before I met her.
