Why I Hate Living in Halifax: this city is dirty; cigarette butts by the thousands outside of businesses and at bus stops.
I hate the motorists who speed, go through red lights, fail to yield and tailgate. Morons all of them. No wonder CFA’s refer to this place as Stupidville —Monty

Not to mention the crappy job this city does at clearing snow. Nothing has changed. The snow is still left at least two feet from the curb. Heads should fucking roll.
The lad doth protest too much, methinks.
What is really stupid about this is that you let this fester in your soul rather than take action to make your life better in another place. If that could really happen. To find out, choose a place where life will always be rosy for you then hie thee to the airport.
Where is this cigarette-butt-free paradise with polite and law abiding drivers that the OB envisions? Erewhon?
Yes, fuck off child. Go home.
Now, the roads are clearer than the sidewalks! I did the fucking limbo walking to the bus (it came early, I might add; disappointing…)! I think of all the Nannies trying to get out to get their life-prolonging medications and wonder how the fuck Linda Mosher thinks this is a good idea… I’m not letting them off the hook this year either!
Happy New Year everyone!
Heh, Linda. Beet juice, running into cyclists, hrm sidewalk clearing policy, teaching kids how to do graffiti at the same time we’re fining businesses if they don’t clear it off fast enough….
I have not once in my life heard any person, local or otherwise, refer to the city as “Stupidville.” But I have lived in enough cities to know that EVERY city’s residents are convinced its drivers are the worst. (I’d give Quebec the edge as slightly worse than the average, followed by Saskatchewan, where drunk driving is almost the norm).
I thought of this bitch today in a parking lot. I saw a gal with a cigarette in her yap get out of a car. Halfway to the door of the grocery store she just dropped the butt on the ground. No time to look for a cigarette disposal thingy I guess.
Don’t forget all the trash that stand at bus shelters and spit every few seconds….
Their should be more cigarette receptacles around, I am noticing more and more of them though which is a good sign, I think they took them away to discourage smoking but all that did was make people throw them on the ground, In this day and age everyone knows its bad for you but its a lifestyle choice, Not a wise one but still, Designated smoking areas and receptacles are the answer!
Calico is right, bring back the receptacles….just because people don’t like smoking and take out receptacles doesn’t mean people will quit smoking! And, it’s still legal, so how can you justify taking them away?
