I dont understand why a certain bus never shows up on time no matter what time of the day it is. It says it leaves Mumford at 345,405,425. I waited from 240 until 440 when it finally showed up. Unfortunately this is the only bus that goes by our home. One other time I tried getting it at Mumford at 155 and it showed up at 230. I can see why people in my community now have gone back to driving their cars.

Would that bus happen to be the 9? It’s never ever on time! And there’s no way to get to the North End otherwise unless you take the 52 and then the 7, and backtrack.
I wonder if anyone is ever happy with their bus/route.
time to start developing those teleporters… sounds like I have a shitload of people who would buy into it.
i confronted metro transit about this, and i am still waiting for a response. oh and i caught one of their driver’s smoking IN the bus driving on the circ highway (no people on board). i thought you could no smoke on them.
I agree, hollah! I have lived here for 3 years and have never really had much to complain about regarding transit (lucky, I know!). Now, I need to rely on the 9 and can’t fracking stand it! I take the 9 that’s an hour early to my destination, just to ensure I’m there on time!!
Number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9…
While the #9 can be bad at times (I should know, I used to drive it Monday nights), I think your situation yesterday may have had something to do with a downed power pole on Lady Hammond.
Read in the news about Transit operating costs. Sounds like an increase in fare. Guess I’ll have to walk to Halifax to work.
A downed power pole didnt make 3 buses not show up considering re-routing the bus only took 2 minutes.
Apparently Bon thinks the buses are able to fly past the other vehicles that got into the traffic mess caused by the power pole incident. I got caught in the Lady Hammond delays and it wasn’t a 2 minute detour while the emergency vehicles & NSPI crews worked on the scene. By the time I got through it was almost 25 minutes thanks to the start of rush hour and the extra traffic thanks to the overpass confusion.
As for the buses not showing up on that route, you have to figure out what route that bus is coming off of to see where the delay is. Those particular #9 departures are not coming from a bus finishing a route #9 with only a minute to spare, however they are likely coming in very, very late from whatever route they are coming from.
Sabastien – if you called the 490-4000 line then you didn’t confront Metro Transit at all, you dealt with an HRM call centre agent who has nothing to do with transit operations except for schedule info and forwarding rider concerns. They aren’t even located in the transit facility on Ilsley.
VOR I was advised not to listen to anything you say.
That happens to me with the number 7 all the time. It will say it will be here and 8 mins then 20 something mins and then it takes like 40 mins. And this happens all the time.
Number 17, not 7 .
I posted about a friend of mine who works at Dockyard…he bought one of those electric scooters last summer. (it has the silly peddals on it) So were having a couple beers in Dartmouth yesterday evening, He told me he only had to take the bus about a half dozen times since he’s bought it, he stopped buying bus passes 16 months ago x $70 dollars = $1120.00, he paid $1500.00 for his “bike’ & pays no insurance, license fees, nor does he have any parking issues…. at pennies a charge, I don’t understand why more people who live right in the city are not jumping on the band wagon. After all except for the odd snow day when nothings plowed yet, your free to move about the city, whenever you want !
This title is a fucking eyesore.
Yeah, I know Dino Jr., it is.
And the more we post here…
The more it will show up.
Pretty annoying, eh?
but see here, you are using standard time. you are supposed to be using metro transit time, that’s what they use, back on the planet they come from.
Thanks hollah…will keep that in mind. I have taken the 7 before and it has always been on time. Sebastian you should e-mail HRM instead and it will be forwarded to a MT supervisor. Just a few months ago a MT driver was fired for text messaging while driving. The driver was caught on camera. The same thing should apply when a driver is caught smoking on the bus.
