So an NDP candidate shows up at my door. I tell him I don’t think there is much to distinguish one party from another these days. So then I explain I am therefore forced to choose among candidates, regardless of party stripe, and ask whether there will be a candidates’ forum in my riding. Apparently not, says the NDP member wannabe, adding that he didn’t think that was very important, given the fact that the candidates will just repeat the platform points of their parties. Just another reason why people don’t vote. —Let Them Think For Themselves

I remember the other weekend on Sunday when a pol(NDP) came by, you should have seen the look on his face when I opened my door and he saw me, must have taken a couple years off his life. It was priceless. Me thinks he told other campaigners to stay away from my house so they don’t go into shock.
