Why do i have to sign in to make a comment? I’ve bitched about this before but it was never published. Now that I have signed up and given my email address to you I can now enjoy the hundreds of spam emails a day from companies my name was sold to. Thank

You know something else I find obnoxious? It’s when the damn tv cameras invade soup kitchens on Thanksgiving and Xmas to show close up images of poor people eating a meal. Leave them the hell alone, let them have some privacy and dignity. Why they have to shove their camera into someones face while they are eating a meal I don’t understand.
“poor veterans”…well they do get annual parades, lots of media coverage, congrats from local kiddies every year, etc, etc, etc. They’re really not that bad off especially compared to other old people.Besides, isn’t the day suposed to be about remembering the mistake of war and hoping it can be avoided in the future instead of celebrating old soldiers? I’m not saying crap on the old fellas but I think they get given plenty of respect and can handle a few extra photos.
pictures put a face to suffering -least we ever forget what kind of sacrifices people have/continue to make-

I agree with i am currently serving in the navy and have done 2 6 month deployments and on both home comings the media is getting in between husbans and wifes, father and child and friends so to the media give it a fucking break cause you can trust me the last people any one gone away for a long time is you fucking cocksuckers and your cameras

Just like taking photos of a car accident is paying respect to the victims, you stupid f-ing NSCAD student.What YES is trying to say is why don’t these photographers stop snapping phtos when its the minute of silence? Woudn’t that be showing respect?
In my humble opinion, a lot of NSCAD students are of the mind-set that they are somehow morally above us, and that society’s rules do not apply to them. With some exceptions, I have yet to encounter the pretentiousness displayed by the infamous “NSCAD student- type” Especially those of the crunchy-granola trust fund hippy variety.

Like bad movies…if we stop watching them they will stop making them.Time to give the photo ops of very old soldiers a rest. WWII ended over 60 years ago and even the kids born after it are retiring fer chr*st sake. If society could begin to see Rememberance day as a day to remember loss and hope for peace rather than a day to glorify past battles then perhaps these endless shots of ancient vets would not be so sought after.Yes, they did their thing but they’ve gotten decades of thanks and praise and movies and photos, etc, etc, etc. Let’s stop turning this into a media circus once a year and we’ll have no problem with photographers because there will be so few.We can remember loss without the annual military parade.
