Why do guys always do the thing where they get all distant and weird when they wanna break up so that the girl breaks up with them first? Is it so hard to tell her how you feel? What would you do if she didn’t take the hint? Stay with her forever?

Its a sign of cowardice. Or sometimes they just can’t deal with breaking a girls’ heart. Either way, I think women would understand men a whole lot more if they got in touch with their feminine side.
hey OP,
don’t act like for one second that a woman would simple accept a break up and part ways cleanly. There is usually at least 2 hours of Q&A followed by an hour or crying and possible another hour of her telling the guy why she never liked him anyway. Guys get the girl to break up with them for one reason ITS FASTER than having to sit through a 4 hour break up drama scene.
I am sure alot of the guys reading this can releate to breaking up with someone and having to go through ALL the reasons why with her with a fine tooth comb.
If women didn’t like drama so much this wouldn’t be the case so they only have themselves to blame
oh, we ALWAYS do that eh?
Always you say. So no guy has ever dumped a girl any other way? what world do you live in?
I have a feeling I know why they distance themselves from you. I don’t know where you are and it scares me because you could live in my building… and that’s not far away enough for me.
zZz, don’t take “always” so literally. She obviously knows that there are other ways to breakup with people. and lovinglife, I don’t see how you are getting that the OP thinks that women would just acccept breakups. That’s not what she’s saying. Sure there would be a fight that lasts four hours… you think its FASTER to emotionally distance your self from her? That can go on for months if the girl can’t or doesn’t want to take the hint. So don’t try to pretend that you are trying to avoid drama as being a jerk to her probably evokes more drama in the long run then being upfront. You are just a coward.
hey lovinglife, I get what you’re sayinggggg. I’m a chick and even THAT would traumatize me. I think those types of “ladies” need to find themselves some dignity and move the fuck on. Why create drama with someone who obviously, for whatever reason, doesn’t want to be with you anymore?
Take it with a bit of grace and class, ladies. It sucks to be dumped, but you can’t force people to love you back when it comes right down to it.
I have used this technique twice in the past and on both occasions, it was because they were complete and utter PSYCHOS!!!! In all honesty, sometimes, the only way to make a clean break from a girl who is obsessive/controlling/jealous/crazy is to make her think it was her idea to break up. If you have to split from a girl who will more than likely burn or otherwise destroy your stuff if she can’t understand why you’re leaving her, your only option is to make her think it’s her idea. This isn’t to say that’s the case in your situation OP, but it is one of the many reasons a guy may use this method for breaking up a relationship.
oh Pretty Kitty, My Internet crush on you grows with every insightful post.
and stairdog – my post was meant to be tongue in cheek. You know who got that? EVERYONE ELSE EXPECT YOU. uptight wank
aww, lovinglife *blush*
I took ‘always’ literally because it’s thrown about far too much when sweepingly generalizing about men.
We’re ALL pigs who ALWAYS wait for the crazy bitch to break up with us. We ALL cause messes, ALWAYS sit around in our own filth, and NEVER do any chores around the house. We ALL drink all the time and ALWAYS get into fights.
Fuck that.
I work damn hard every day, do chores, and haven’t ever gotten in a fight (despite being a bouncer for two years).
start using ‘usually’ or ‘quite often’ or ‘tend to’ or ‘lean towards’. When you say ALWAYS, I’ve started taking it as ‘100% a given every time’.
