I am going to ask a series of “belief” questions. Who do we believe? What do we believe? Do we believe in the mass media? Do we believe in governments, or corporations? Do we believe in a god?
I submit that we cannot believe in anything. We live in a fake world.
We cannot even believe in our own senses. Every sees “reality” in a slightly different way. Science tells us that we may live in a holographic universe that is not real.
What can we do to find out what is real? I suggest that we accept nothing and believe in nothing. Is this nihilism? I don’t know. I would like an answer. —the doubter

Would you believe those who answered or were they putting a spin on their response to be empathetic to you?
You think too much. When you get to my age, you don’t even entertain that shit because it’s totally pointless. A fucking waste of good brain matter engaging in questions that, in the grand scheme of things, means diddly-squat. Wallow in your silly self-torment, OP, or go embrace life, fuck a holographic universe, fuck nihilism, fuck the fake world. Works for me.
This isn’t a bitch… *walks out*
I think OP should maybe fuck a person, Joe. That always helps an existential crisis, imo
Now if only MM was here…
Believe in yourself. Everything else is relative to you, and how you perceive it.
It sounds like you are hanging out with fake people, maybe on fb too much; and that is bumming you out. Understand that if you surround yourself with fakers; then your very existence will seem fake.
I don’t believe in the existence of a true state of ‘nothingness’, but some very interesting people find this a great question of both scientific and non-scientific debate. Try some particle physics and quantum mechanics OP, that will cheer you up and reveal the more interesting mysteries of our lives and the universe.
OB, I recommend you do a reset on your thinking by reading “Zen and The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance”.
Here’s a review:
“One of the most important & influential books written in the past half-century, Robert M. Pirsig’s Zen & the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance is a powerfully moving & penetrating examination of how we live, a breathtaking meditation on how to live better. Here is the book that transformed a generation, an unforgettable narration of a summer motorcycle trip across America’s Northwest, undertaken by a father & his young son. A story of love & fear–of growth, discovery & acceptance–that becomes a profound personal & philosophical odyssey into life’s fundamental questions, this uniquely exhilarating modern classic is both touching & transcendent, resonant with the myriad confusions of existence & the small, essential triumphs that propel us forward. “
Can I have what you’re smoking OP? Dude…I can smell colours and see sound.
Believe in the great & powerful Foamy.
You are looked on as a serf, & guided by our education system, to be a cog in the machine.
There are some decent news agencies, The Real News Network or Alternate news …for example, but never forget bullshit in = BS out.
The Government masters are in fact the ass kissers of the big business owners , those few elite uber rich , who can do what the want & buy their way through anything.
The Flying Spagetti Monster has never let me down (probably cause i’ve never asked anything of it)
Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only change form.
SO when you die, you will change form & not really die at all ….but will your consciousness still exist ????
Guess we’ll all just have to die & find out ~; )
Weren’t there several more posts here?!
What’s happening with this forum?
All those Joseph Howes gone. Just like that. Insecure and batshit bonkers, ‘Zan.
‘Freedom of Speech’ on the Scroat is really a joke. Liberal paper? Far Left-Wingnut Jam Rag is more like it.
So, who is the new Champeen? Who can replace MM? Who is the new bull goose looney?
To add: why did this question peeve so many?
YAY! The spirit of the old board is back!
Well now Nukka, there are hundreds of off-topic comments made by many commenters which are not deleted, so I fail to see that logic. In fact, most comments about this bitch are off-topic.
NO ONE has been able to determine the magic formula used in editing our posts let alone what caused a banning.
Thanks ONION BAG! Must tell old Meaty about this…👾
My! Things are flying tonight!
Hello? *echo echo echo echo…*
Instead of focusing on the unknowable try focusing on what you can control – becoming a better, more functional person. Look after your health, develop your interests and spend time with the people who enrich your life. Keep it simple.
Your line of questioning isn’t necessarily conducive to nihilism because it doesn’t point necessarily to the idea that existence is meaningless and that there is no value in even seeking meaning. It does, however, seem to point to solipsism, which is the idea that all that exists is what the individual knows. I don’t buy either notion, myself. I think meaning can be perceived within a Golden Mean – that point of balance between Self and Other, lack and excess. The search for such meaning is never without value. But I’m not MM, so what value you do find is up to you. 8)
^^^If that doesn’t get a rise out of our mm – nothing will!
