My two young children & I waited to cross the road around 9am (near uniacke) as 2 cars drove past us. The next car stopped to let us cross.. I grabbed both of their hands & told them ok now it is safe to cross. Your stupid ass took it upon yourself to take the right away when there was TWO vehicles stopped for us before you. What did you think? They stopped so you could pass ahead of them? NO ASSHOLE!! They stopped to let us pedestrians cross the road. We were just stepping out past the vehicle that stopped for us when you zoomed past in a rush without even looking. Thanks a bunch for showing my children that even though vehicles are allowing you to cross, it still ISNT SAFE! I do not appreciate the early morning heart attack. Lucky for you, the car only had a dealer plate visible. Watch where you’re going prick!! —Pissed off Mom!

I think it is good for your kids to learn that they need to be vigilant crossing the road even when they think it’s safe. There is more than one bad driver out there. Not that I’m not outraged like you when this happens. It has happened to me more than once but I got a partial licence and reported it the time a person swerved around me in a crosswalk, baby in a sling and toddler holding my hand. The police found the driver and she had a lot more trouble than a crosswalk violation – parole violations got her sent back to jail.
Instead of teaching children to be vigilant in traffic we need to be teaching cars to not hit people. Victim blaming = victim shaming.
Interesting play on words: “take the right away” instead of “take the right of way.”
