I am really fucking sick of working with people who spend their entire day bitching and complaining about how underpaid/underappreciated they are, how much smarter/better trained/ better educated than their bosses they are, etc, etc, etc. Do they really think all their co-workers want to be constantly bogged down by their negativity? Chances are, their co-workers are actually thinking to themselves “Fuck, I wish I didn’t have to work with this asshole” or “I wish this person spent even half as much time working as they do bitching.” Oh, and the icing on the cake is when their boss/supervisor gives everyone a chance to voice their concerns at a staff meeting (you know, in a mature, adult forum), and then they sit there, not saying a word about their dozens of “issues” or even stepping in to help back up anyone else who has something to say in a valid, respectful, constructive way. Really impressive, people. -Wishing For A Private Office

  1. Through my years of work, there is always a few who would never be satisfied no matter what, and funny enogh they usually end up leaving. Just tune it out OB.

  2. Because voicing dozens of concerns at staff meetings is a surefire way to not be let go in a company wide “restructuring”.

  3. Fart! Fart until you can’t fart anymore and then eat some beans and fart again. Then simply by sheer revulsion you will have a private office all to yourself!!!

  4. Or, at the next staff meeting, you could say to the boss that you believe your coworker has an issue he/she wanted to raise. Put the fuckers right on the spot and watch them fumble and bumble themselves out of that bit of muck.

  5. Haz – I shared an office with this guy who’d eat donairs for lunch, every day and fart all afternoon. The silent, but deadly ones. His ass wind flew right in my direction. There were times when I’d have to actually get up and leave the office for a while to let the stench of his innards die down a bit. I swear the paint was peeling off the wall by the time I left.

Anyway, I hear ya, OB. I’ve worked with people like that. What they don’t realize is the fact that being a pain in the ass and slamming the boss and constantly bitching about work isn’t going to get them promoted and they’re ultimately going to end up in the exact same position for the rest of their working lives.

We’ve all had bosses who were useless – bosses who we were smarter than, who we were more capable than, but in the end, complaining about all that shit constantly isn’t going to get you anywhere. Life is a whole lot easier for you when you just shut up and do your work.
