My nerves too… Just in case you didn’t see my earlier message, I was wrapped up with other Coastly duties much of today and didn’t realize what was going down until far too late, and for that I apologize. Dude was horrible. S/he’s been banned for now and I’ll do what I can to keep security tight over the weekend, promise. I only hope you’ll permit me some occasional shut-eye and quality playtime with my wee-one too…

I agree. It started what, 6 weeks ago? Some name with a picture that looked like one of those guys that has no teeth and can suck his own nose.

It was pretty annoying but when it started getting racist, well, that’s when I got pissed – but I also know the more attention little tools like that get, the more they feed off it. Call it the power trip of a 12 year old with a hard-on – who knows?
How ’bout having a co-moderator(s) just to report really offensive posts like this? Last summer a few of us pitched in while the moderator was on vacation so you might think about that.

OP I’ve got a younger brother, who is a bit of a computer geek. He & several of his friends have been into computers since they first came out & he told me that anyone with very little knowledge can have their IP address changing , it can change each time you log on. it can be set up to change from one IP to another while logged on.
I don’t know exactly what he’s talking about. But I do know once when I was hacked & my computer would respond to me, him & his freind came out to my house & within 2 hours had my machine working, had located the persons address that had hacked me, then while I watched logged into his system while he was online & told him his amateurish hack should have been better hidden (whatever the fuck that means) & they told him to enjoy shopping for a new hard drive & did whatever they do to make a computer no longer work.
So getting & blocking an IP address may work for you or for me. But it won’t work for those who have a little knowledge.

More: this is the issue I’m trying to figure out now. There are websites and protocols that allow saavy net users to switch their IP’s in the blink of an eye, which makes it really hard t ban someone effectively. I’m hoping though that the lack of re-offense so far means the last troll is not of that ilk.
mR fRosTy: sometimes i do, but quality time for me and he generally means hitting the playground, arts-n-crafts time, the beach, reading or cooking and eating. I try really hard to be engaged with him and not let technology get in the way. That said right now I’m on the computer while he watches a new spiderman dvd. 🙂

I personally don’t have a clue how to do stuff like that & whenever I get/have a problem I call my brother & when he & his friends speak about what they’re doing, it is in another language…that I mostly don’t understand.

suggestion to support a complaint driven system… if more than, say, x number of different members report the comment allow the program to temporarily disable the account or just hide all comments posted by said user until mod4.0 returns from the beach.
