I firmly do not believe that just because you are a TV personality or celebrity in the community you should have the right to artistic merit—when so many have to claw their way into the industry through slush piles, and patiently act as yes men/women to editors without getting a say most times in their own work, or better yet, have to go to school to land a career in the field! What the hell gives you the right to be served on a silver platter when you have just as much experience as the people mentioned above? The fact that it’s celebrated as brilliant work makes me even more sick to my stomach. Bring it outside of this incestous circle of patronage and see how high you are on the bestseller when you can’t buy your way in. —Tired of the Name Dropping, Money Gloating and Back Patting

  1. It’s good, no? Too bad he is so terrible IRL. Biggest political fraud ever. No hijacking though.

  2. so many sour grapes in this posting we should get a gallon of nasty w(h)ine if we squeeze hard enough.

  3. Obviously, the author made a name for him(her)self somehow. Why shouldn’t they write a book? Jealous much?

  4. And what category does that long-winded narrative place YOU in op?

Just wondering if this is veiled narcissism or outright delusion.

  5. omg! as soon as you said that pk, i thought yeah, i bet that’s what op is whining about. if so, then for heaven’s sake, that feature on the news is wildly popular so of course the book would be too. that’s not patronage, that’s demand marketing. it’s sold out on amazon, you think all the buyers are doing it to toady-up?
as far as artistic merit…wtf? what does that have to do with the bestseller list?
