I have to vent. I have almost hit pedestrians, in part, because the oncoming cars have had their fog lights on. Fog lights should only be used when there is ground hugging, can barely see 1/4 mile down the road, fog not on a clear dark night. Their use at any other time can blind oncoming drivers. Before anybody says anything I have had an eye exam and my car windows are clean. The worst ones are the vehicles, mostly trucks, with the “super bright” headlights & “super bright” fog lights but even those are superseded by the rocket scientists who have aftermarket fog lights installed along with their factory installed fog lights and have them both on at the same time (which by the way is illegal..to have them both on..). You might also notice that when it’s raining, the glare off the road really ruins one’s night vision. Fog lights only compound the problem. There are those that might say they have them one for safety, so that they can see the road and what’s at the side of the road. I can understand, the streets here can be pretty dark, but the fact that you blind oncoming drivers has just made it unsafe for you and for others around you. If nothing else, turn off your “FOG LIGHTS” when the streets are wet. I know there are some people who do that & I thank those that do.
P.S. There are places in the US and Europe where you can get a ticket for the illegal use of fog lights. —Blinded By The Light

OB, you are expected to drive safely even when fog lights are coming at you. If you can’t handle this, I suggest you throw away your keys and take the bus.
But dawg, that shit just looks badass.
Yeah man, fogs look sooooooo cool!
bright lights scare the fuck outa me!!!!!
no op, i know. I couldn’t agree more. That should be an instant ticket.
Fog lights point AT THE GROUND! They don’t project more than 20 feet in front of the vehicle and certainly not into the eyes of incoming motorists. There is no legitimacy whatsoever in this bitch.
Great Value, you can get on your high horse and all, and make out like you’re super-expert, but under certain conditions with the vehicle lights that quite a few people get away with these days, it’s not possible to drive safely. Nobody can. The only reason you can bleat about theory is because you have been lucky enough so far not to nail a pedestrian…probably because most peds out there know damn well when drivers can’t see ’em.
You’re full of shit if you stand up and claim that on a dark rainy night with lights blasting in your eyes that you see every pedestrian. Give all of us a break.
Great Value is an in denial troll. Pay him no heed, and never expect a credible response.
k so since I read this I started to take notice. Fog lights don’t bother me in the least. Lots of people use them in addition to their headlights every time they switch them on. If this is an issue for you, you might not be fit for the road.
I don’t know if it’s fog lights or those nasty halogen lights on trucks that seem to be on the perfect height to sear the back of your retina. I hate those suckers.
