  1. omg! and while we’re at it.. can someone PLEASE explain to me the difference between holding a phone to your ear and holding it in front of you? or text messaging? or checking your voicemail (not talking, only listening) or flipping through CDs? or changing CDs? or changing the radio station? or turning the volume up? or digging your sunglasses out of your purse? …. all of these things should be BANNED!!! *sarcasm*

  2. I’ve almost been nailed more than a few times while crossing the street by someone talking on their cellphone. Once I was crossing on a green light and this bitch in a mini van talking on her phone and trying to open the top of her coffee who decided to make a right hand turn. Then she gave ME (the one with the right of way) the finger! I agree with the OP’s point: get a fucking bluetooth or pull the fuck over to have your phone convo if it’s THAT important. 20 fucking years ago people didn’t have cell phones like the have today and they managed just fine, so I DOUBT a cell phone is the absolute necessity most people make them out to be. I might get a little worked up over this, but I’m sick and fucking tired of almost getting creamed on a crosswalk because of some asshole on their phone.

  3. Sorry, I meant: once I was crossing on a green light and this bitch in a mini van talking on her phone and trying to open the top of her coffee who decided to make a right hand turn almost creamed me in the cross walk.

  4. The cellphone ban is the most disregarded law I have ever seen. I don’t think anyone has changed their behavior since I still see drivers holding cellphones to their ears every few cars in traffic. An disrespected law is a bad law.

  5. I thought this cellphone ban thing was a good idea but I would rather have the people who wish to talk on the cellphone while driving drive and do it than pull over out of the blue. I have had this happen more times than I can count. No blinkers, nothing, its like the phone rings and they just stop where they are. I pay close attention to other drivers on the road but I keep nearly rearending people because they pull this stupid trick. Granted, some people may have to answer the phone right that second but for the majority, I ask ..What the hell is so important that you have to answer every call right away? I think someone’s going to get killed or hurt more often with the ban than without it.

  6. I say, get an answering machine. I never have to answer my phone while driving, and I refuse to buy a bluetooth. I spend enough money on trinkets and gadgets, and more than enough to the phone companies. I have a phone with me in my car for emergencies. If you want to talk to me and I am driving, I will call back. I won’t even pull over to answer, I won’t answer at all.(I hate talking on the phone) I can admit that it is dangerous for me to be distracted by a phone convo, some of which can get pretty intense. People take driving WAY too lightly. So you’ve made it from point A to B safely. Most accidents happen close to home, and on routes that you’ve made time and time again. Simply put, you should not be talking on the phone while driving, the fact it is illegal is irrelevant to me, it’s the fact that it is dangerous. It causes inattentiveness to the driving.
