Five times…FIVE TIMES we tried to buy a property in Nova Scotia and each time, the seller turns out to be insane. Not just difficult, or hard to work with but clearly insane. Most recently we offered someone FULL ASKING PRICE on a property…and thats unheard of…and the seller STILL killed the deal…nothing was unrealistic, and you didn’t even counter—just killed it. If you countered, chances are we would have accepted but no, you got your panties all balled up and almost cried because we asked you to consider fixing a single electrical issue that would have kept us from getting insurance (and thus financing, thus no sale)…but what did you do? Line through the amendment and rejected…didn’t try to meet us halfway, or even return it saying you wouldn’t do it…you just killed the deal. Your house has been for sale for FOUR YEARS and this is the first offer you got…and you killed it.
If this was a one off, fine, but the time before this—you misled us into believing that the title was clean on the property. $600 worth of inspections and a month of our lives later you realize, “Hey, I don’t have a clear title on this land.” and you expected us to accept that? Right, accept your property that is worthless because technically it has no legal driveway.
Then this other guy…doesn’t even respond to our *EXTREMELY REASONABLE OFFER* and we hear after hounding your agent that you rejected it because you wanted a cash offer. A CASH OFFER on a fucking house…um, newsflash dickwad…anyone with that kind of cash sitting around isn’t interested in your little house. You can all keep your fucking real estate…keep listing it for years and years and years and keep rejecting people who want to buy it for whatever piddly little reason you can think of, because you’re going to be stuck in your shit hole until you die.
Oh yea—just because you chose to ignore the question about your knowledge of any problems with the septic system doesn’t make the question go away. D-bags. —Fuck You and Your Property

Buyers can be just as crazy, OB.
When my parents sold their house…. holy fuckbags. The buyers actually tired to put in a clause THE DAY OF CLOSING and demanded $230 off the purchase price for something they had just found that OMG HAD TO BE FIXED BEFORE THEY COULD MOVE IN (which was ridic. because that was passed on the inspection). They said they would walk if my parents didn’t cave! These are people who had been looking for a house in our area for 2 years and found nothing. Turns out, they ended up getting a mortgage over 20k more than they bought the house for. So it’s not like $230 problem they claimed the house had was going to break them.
My parents told them to go take a flying leap because they were legally bound to buying the property at that point in the deal (papers signed and all that shit — they just claimed that they didn’t still didn’t have to buy the place and that they’d just refuse to send the money over). BAHAHAHA. Finally, their lawyer talked some sense into them and they sent the $$$ and we went out for a lovely steak dinner and then they bought me a macbook. So good day for me.
Err’ body be fucking CRAZY when it comes to buying/selling property. Sellers think their properties are worth more than they are and buyers think their money is somehow more special than everyone elses and they deserve a great low ball deal. I swear the SANEST people on the planet become raving lunatics when they’re selling/buying a damn house.
FFS.

this is god telling you to leave….
you shouldn’t be here….
go…now… while you still can.
The only problem with buying property in Nova Scotia is then you have to live there.
…and there’s no beep^^
The stories I’ve heard about people just trying to sell Donkey Kong 64 on Kijiji is enough to make me hate all humans, I couldn’t even imagine trying to sell a house.
Donkey Kong 64….Is Mel a gamer?!
she ain’t gamey
I looked into buying property here and honestly both, sellers and buyers are nuts.
Why sellers, for asking the same prices as in Toronto or Vancouver for crappier and smaller houses. Houses in clayton park and bedford are priced the same as in tantallon and area.
You ask why? The reason you get is “Location, location, location”. How can a place in the middle of nowhere, not close to any amenities and a 30 min drive to work be priced the same as something that’s a 5 min drive to work and close to everything else. I don’t get it.
There isn’t even bus service out that way. How can 2 completely different locations with nothing in common be used as an excuse to price a property?
The reason why I think buyers are nuts is because they’re actually encouraging this market without question. How can you think you’re house, that’s more than 70 years old with nothing done to it since it was built (we’re talking original roof, plumbing, wiring, furnace and everthing else really) be worth $230,000? What world do you live in?
Of all things, it was in fairview and barely over 1000sqft!!!! Not the safest area at all!
So ya, based on my last 3+ years of research, houses aren’t worth buying here. Too expensive for nothing! What I love the most are the townhouses that are priced at 300 and 400k. It’s a townhouse for god’s sake! what idiot would pay that much for a townhouse!
I do have the limited edition Donkey Kong jungle green N64 ;). Not for sale, I will never sell!!!!
some stuff, does not have a price tag
I have some dumbass down the street from me trying to unload a 2 bedroom shitshack, old roof, old windows, shitty yard shitty paint and it’s tiny, for 220,000. If that was anywhere but in Halifax, that piece of shit wouldn’t fetch 75,000. Pathetic.
i was looking at a piece of land in stewiacke a couple years ago. no road acess, you had to go across someone else’s land to get to it. he wanted something 90,000 bucks, for a little over 2 acres. some people are nuts. the only way that you would charge that much, is if there was a gold mine or oil well on it. people need to get fucking real, and come to fuck back to sanity. you are in buttfuck hollow, not in halifax, or another major urban area, so drop your fucking prices.
I’ve heard that sixth time is a charm in this industry OP!
call me i’m not insane and I have a property for sale 292 8672 no joke
