Really, the government is worried about the repercussions of one person that is entitled to weed as a method of pain management? It’s not like this person is trafficking this shit, she’s in constant anguish, and needs this for any type of relief. Of all the issues facing this gov’t, they’re worried about this? They think it sets a precedence with respect to the rest of us? Just looking at this particular case, this woman went through the ringer to get what she needs, are pot-heads willing to do the same? I doubt it.
For fuck sakes, de-criminalize it, tax it and get it over with. It’s obviously medically viable as a pain management drug, politicians have to get over the stigma and preconceptions of its’ use and listen to the medical community. It has a purpose, whether they like it or not. Welcome to the 21st century. Get over it and make it available to people who need it!—Bullet

You don’t need drugs, any sickness you have can be cured with the mind.
can you read my mind echo?
What about, say, a gunshot wound to the chest? I’m very impressed it you can heal that with your mind…. I think I will stick with conventional medicine….
Um why should the governemnt pay for her pot? They don’t pay me for any meds I may ever need.
When I broke my leg, I had reconstructive surgery(s).
I was the only person admitted to the hospital with a broken leg, the place was full & everyone else was hips, pelvis and a guy with broken femurs. When I asked why I wasn’t with the other guy’s with broken legs…they said no one had been able to break their legs as well as I did & were not admitted.
I had to wait 6 days for them to be sure they wouldn’t have to cut off my lower leg, while they did all they could to keep blood flowing in & out of it.
I was given Morphine, 45 mls every 4 hours by injection…seems I’m alergic to just about everything else.
In the hospital, after the first day my digestive system shut down from morphine use. I had bugs crawling on me by day 3,or that’s what it felt like & I wasn’t geting better, I was unconscious from the drugs most of the time…seems there some dumb body problem with no food no nutrients you DON’T HEAL AS QUICKLY ! You become weaker, and more disoriented .
Who Would Have Thought The Body Needs Nutrients ‘eh ?!
When they released me, now weaned down to 30 mils of morphine every 4 hours orally. They gave me a big bottle of pills to take home & a prescription for more.
I threw it away.
I bought some pot from someone I know.
I got a bottle of rum, to take the edge off & that’s how I treated the pain. good ole Buds .
A very strange thing then happened.
My appetite came back. My digestive system went into over drive I WAS STARVING. The bugs stopped crawling under my skin & I could actually hold a conversation, work on my computer, deal with clients by phone…I just couldn’t walk or drive
So what would you perfer, getting all the dangerous addictive drugs you wanted legally & cheaply I might add. But you can’t eat, your getting addicted & invisible bugs are crawling all over you…or would you say fuck it & beak a very stupid & self serving law for BIG BUSINESS ?
Well as I just mentioned I made my decission, FUCK BIG BUSINESS & FUCK THE GOVERNMENT ASSHOLES who don’t know SHIT from CHOCOLATE PUDDING…& you gotta be one dumb motherFu**** to be completely at a loss about that !
Tell me why we pay them politicians so much again ? Especially when most of them are dumber than pet rocks.
yeah bullit, that she needs it is okay, but how much she actually needs is the point they are trying to find out. she says that she needs x amount today, so she goes and buys more than she needs, what happens to the rest, and on our(taxpayer) dime. now don’t get me wrong, i am all for legalization of this product. but while still under control, we have to wonder, just how many joints she will actually toke, and sell the rest. i knew of one guy, a few years back, doctors gave it to him to help him eat. fuck that was a good idea, but he went and saved some up, and sold it, got busted, and it was all our cash that paid for his treatment, and he pocketed the extra. he is dead now, seems like he got too high, and did a swan dive off a building in toronto.
psa, you, are an absolute idiot. i am male, as in big dick, and that you can suck. paingirl, sweetie, i read your mind there, and that was an awful thought. but the later one was cool. have a big doobie and a good day. bunny comes tomorrow.
and echo64, the method of vulcan mind control, can never be mastered by these humans, too wasted on their coke and shit to realize that. but there is the hindi method of zen, or yoga that ight help them here.
p.s.a., either play the game nice here, or go somewhere else. we will only put up with so much of your drivel, before you get booted and blocked. that is the call on this site. if you have a legit comment to make, then do so. and stop using racial slurs. moderation is one thing, but total vehemance is quite another. consider this your only warning. we have the power to divert you.

PSA- Go back to school, finish Grade 9, stop huffing spray paint, and start thinking before you speak. Follow these simple rules, and you may find your miserable existence improving slightly.
Here’s the thing, PSA. When you can’t or won’t type coherent sentences, you can’t expect reasoned discussion. So why are you here? Just to shoot your e-mouth off with inane, ignorant drivel? You could visit just about any other forum on the net with that shit and get a better reaction than you will here. Food for thought.
let’s just ignore this, whatever it is.
PSA, what in the nine hells is wrong with you? Put down the jenkem and smoke a nice mellow J, man.
Man, right off the fucken rails this went. PSA was born from a syphilitic cunt, has a small dick and an even smaller mind. Probably jerks off alone in a closet using his own shit as lube while dreaming of his mother. Fucken idiot.
F*** all of these trolls. I’m just in here to say pot is harmless – has always been, will always be. it has killed FAR less people that alcohol has, and is impossible to overdose on. Chill people. Just chill. Lets all just toke up together and relaxxxxxx
Decriminalization is a stupid concept that doesn’t even make sense. Just legalize it.
I’m all out or I would, tresorla!
Just for the record: marihuana IS legal in Canada and has been for years. It is classified as a narcotic and is legally available to patients who qualify. The government even supplies it to these people, for sale, under a controlled program. Would the government consider legalizing it for the public any more than they would any other narcotic for recreational use?
Maybe so Oceanlady…JUST FOR THE RECORD, as I learned from my Doctor when i went in for one of many visits for follow up, removal of the staples, new cast(s) etc. When they went to give me another prescription for morphine I told the doctor I didn’t want it.
When asked about what I was doing for pain…I told the Doc the truth(see previous comment)
QUOTE-” We are not allowed to prescribe that for your condition. Although you are not my first patient who has told me this is for them perferable to taking opiates”
THe Doc was concerned that my supply wasn’t ” possibly mixed with street drugs” like PCP etc.
So OceanLady the Government is directly interfering in Canadian Doctors doing what they might consider as alternatives -AKA marijuanna for pain.
They are only allowed to prescribe it for a very few specific conditions.
So yeah, how great is that…some loser teacher/lawyer/indianchief, turned Politician gets to interfer on how Doctors do their jobs !
Also the label Narcotic…is just that a Government applied LABEL !
They applied it, they can remove it…because what other narcotic can be grown just about anywhere, & be used completely UNTREATED, UNREFINED, UNSYNTHESIZED…all you gotta do is dry out the flowers (aka Buds)
Even opium which can be smoked as a raw product, has to be refined to give doctors the opiate based pain killer they use…& unlike marijuanna they are addictive !
You are right More, doctors cannot ‘prescribe’ medical marihuana, they can only fill out the application forms for approval by health Canada for the use of marihuana by patients with chronic conditions or terminal illnesses. I’m not saying I agree with this and certainly I would prefer an natural approach to pain management over morphine if I was in your position but as things stand, the government is only allowing medical marihuana for more serious ailments under their strictly controlled program. As for changing the designation from narcotic to something more user-friendly, we are talking about the government here, so let’s not hold our breath.
“Would the government consider legalizing it for the public any more than they would any other narcotic for recreational use?”
THIS is the problem. Our gov’t would have you believe the psychoactive properties found in pot are it’s best, only and most dangerous use. Imagine what we would “generally” think about decriminalization or legalization if our gov’t bothered to educate the masses with the FACTS. Pot makes for no-bleach-needed paper 4-fold in volume as compared to what mature trees produce. Pot can be processed into epoxy replacing plastic in many instances. Pot leaves the land rich and fertile making for a SUSTAINABLE ethanol product when used as fuel. The seed provides nutrients YOU CAN LIVE ON. Pot makes for a textile industry that doesn’t even EXIST in Canada (but you’ll find bamboo textile farms here)… I could go on and on.
About the article… if pot were legal it would be A LOT cheaper and not even newsworthy when its supply is added to a social drug plan.
I have a friend who is a hemp farmer in Ontario who explained that the hemp grown for industrial use contains so very little narcotic ingredients that you could smoke your face off and still not get any of the effects of cannabis pot-smokers desire. The mature hemp from his crop he showed us looked like regular marihuana but the similarity ended there. He considered growing medical marihuana but the security restrictions required for this on his farm made it impractical for him. Having a private runway provided further complication and so hemp remains the crop of choice.
OceanLady…unless, the marijuanna users of Canada can/do lobby the Government to get change…similar to what the BIG Drug Companies already do (& they lobby against any kind of marijuanna use in medicine) I agree it’ll be a cold day in hell before there is any change, & as for holding my breath…there is no one that holds more hot air than a politician, we wouldn’t have a chance ~:)
BIG drug companies manufacture a synthetic form of cannabis, but there will always be a market for natural alternatives to pharmaceuticals and medical marihuana is proven to work for those unable to tolerate pharmaceutical options.
Since the government has already established cannabis as a narcotic it may be more complicated to reverse this to allow recreational use than is worth the effort from the government’s perspective.
Oceanlady- how can the government establish pot as a narcotic? A narcotic is a very specific type of drug, and thx does not produce a narcotic effect.
As your posts always seem very knowledgable, I’m just curious where you heard or read this.
Iehova: Health Canada
kay: Pot is not what provides all those fantastic products, it’s hemp. Cannabis has several subspecies (or varities) which are all essentially identical, except for minor variations. It’s very similar to how all dogs are virtually identical at the genetic level, but have very different characteristics. The cannabis that is farmed for hemp has virutally no THC content to it (selective breeding, again like dogs) and has hundreds of uses. The cannabis that is grown for recreational use however, has little to no use otherwise. The fibres are not nearly as strong and the seeds provide little in the way of usable oils. But you are bang on with the government leading the general populace to believe that the pyschoactive effects of marijuana are it’s only effects. The whole system is biased against the use of natural products be it medical marijuana or naturopathic/homeopathic products.
I am a regular user of marijauna and I can say that I am 100% opposed to the legaliztion of it. I agree with decriminalization, but have no desire to ever see it legalized. In doing so, the government would want to regulate and control it as it has done with the tobacco industry and I do not want to see that happen. Next thing you know, they’ll be adding nicotine or some other addictive derivative to it so people will smoke more. They’ll be adding all kinds of nasty chemicals to “preserve it” even though that’s what the THC content of marijuana does naturally. The government needs to keep it’s dirty little fingers out of this pie in my opinion.
When you remove the THC from hemp or pot or whatever only THEN is it not pot. Hemp/pot… it’s ALL the same thing like we would say a rose is a rose is a rose, pick your colour, size and breed. Some pot/hemp breeds are most appropriate for use of its fiber while other breeds more appropriate for the harvesting of it’s flower/bud.
Never Wrong, “cannabis that is grown for recreational use however, has little to no use otherwise… the seeds provide little in the way of usable oils”
Let me encourage you to look into what is required to produce an epoxy from the plant (akin to plastic) and you’ll find only bud-heavy breeds are appropriate for this sort of manufacture, also NOT known as “hemp”. We don’t like seeds in the pot we smoke so I’m not surprised you think there aren’t any or few seeds being a “recreational breed”. You’re wrong. You’ll find LOTS of seeds when you grow females and generally we don’t.
Smoke on.
Wow. I should have known better. Spend the better part of a year ignoring the trolls posts and then I go and respond to one of her statements, thinking she might actually understand what I am saying. Kay, your ability to totally miss the point and needlessly argue something that wasn’t even there astounds me. Also, your lack of knowledge on this issue is blatantly obvious. How about you go cruise wikipedia a little bit more and see what other drivel you can drum up. In the mean time, leave this conversation to the people who actually have first hand knowledge of the products in question.
I have to take issue with classifying thc as a narcotic. Although it does produce CNS effects, and has the potential for abuse, it’s not physically addictive, and as far as I can tell shares no other similarities with opioids, the traditional and defining narcotics.
Health Canada….ugh. I’d trust them for unbiased information…
Take it layin’ down, why don’t you, NW? Sorry to be the one to point it out but sometimes you ARE wrong. Call it hemp if you want or smoke seedy pot if you makes you feel better. Just feel better, asshat.
http://norml.com/
Having smoked industrial hemp, specifically for comparison purposes to the cannabis desired by pot smokers, I can assure anyone who hasn’t, smoking industrial hemp produces NONE (zip, zilch) of the same effect desired by pot smokers. Nor are hemp farmers required to uphold the same security standards as the producers of medical marihunana. They are two different strains of the same family with differing physical and chemical properties. Call it what you want but industrial hemp won’t getcha high:)
And you see why “industrial hemp” is no good for producing epoxy or plastic. We should be outraged the number one poisoning agent on the whole planet (plastic/poly) is PROTECTED by our own government. The FIRST company that would go down should we lift pot prohibition would be Dupont and then, I suspect, 3M. These are even American companies our government protects… Oh, maybe the government is actually protecting the soft wood indusrty. God forbid farmers produce 4 TIMES as much pulp from a renrewable resource, every 8 weeks or so instead of chopping down old growth forests to sell to America. I think we all know the government is “protecting” nobody from a pot buzz. Since we can’t purchase hemp textiles produced in this country but we can get bamboo what does that tell ya?
OL, I’m not sure about hemp farm standards but I’m willing to bet they’re subject to the very same criteria as medical marijane producers in context of volume (meaning only volume would be different in their permits, subjecation to search would be the same). Can you post us a link?
My info comes from my hemp farming friend who was considering switching to farming marihuana but the security standards, which were non-existent for hemp were so strict that it became impractical for him. The private runway on his property further complicated the security restrictions. Sorry, my only link comes via my friend’s experience as a farmer.
“…but we can get bamboo what does that tell ya?”
That we should grow more bamboo?
but can we produce an epoxy or plastic from bamboo, Miles?
Never Wrong, legalization or decriminalization of weed may indeed lead to added chemicals and preservatives but can you say with confidence what you’re smoking now? Only as much as you trust your dealer who may or may not know the grower’s methods. At least legalization would permit you to grow your own without going to jail.
Lift prohibition and the vision of guns and drugs would include a picture of weed as often as we associate guns with corn or potatoes. Lifting prohibition on marijane would serve up a major contendor for the “green initiative”, job creation, economy stimulation, etc IMO It would also make us a world leader and a very very popular tourist spot. No need for “luxery taxation” on this commodity to bale out our economy. Ask again if getting high to the point of… not arguing… ever… is the REAL reason behind prohibition.
I wonder how conspiracy theories originate.
I think you’re behind them all Oceanlady.
Conspiracy theory? It’s HISTORY. Just follow the money, follow the link and do the math for yourself. Once educated NEVER can you conclude weed is illegal because it can get a person high. I don’t imagine this stuff up as I go nor did I create the government’s motives. Please attempt to verify before spewing condescending shit meant to disarm that really only aggravates people who know much much better than you. Oh, and feel free to learn something new while you’re at it.
“Please attempt to verify before spewing condescending shit meant to disarm that really only aggravates people who know much much better than you. Oh, and feel free to learn something new while you’re at it.”
Okay. I’ll wait for you to provide the verification to your theory including the links you are following to support your claims. Without proof all you have is a theory.
Proof? HAHAHAHA Theory? LOL You could try clicking the link and, uh, reading… Here, I’ll give it to ya again, http://norml.com/
Spend DAYS there if not YEARS and then tell us what you think you know about ganga. It’s summed up quite well in the publication “The Emperor Wears No Clothes”. Although it’s quite old our HISTORY hasn’t changed AT ALL. The pot’s a little stronger, no, a lot stronger now but you look up the real differences between hemp and pot. Be prepared to LEARN because right now you’re a product of the propaganda your crafty gov’t provides and reinforced by a single not-hemp-farmer. Think outside the box when asking why it should be illegal with so many PRACTICAL uses.
Here, try Chapter 1: http://www.jackherer.com/chapters.html
Interesting reading for sure but does not offer up any definitive proof that the government wants all the cannabis for epoxy and plastics.
