Specifically regarding outbound traffic on Magazine Hill:
This is the only place I have ever driven in Nova Scotia where people go 80 in the passing lane!
Now, I know that the turn-off to Bedford is on the left side of the road, but is it really necessary to hold everyone up because you don’t want to change lanes right before your turn off?
As I’m sure most of the people who drive on this stretch have noticed, it also causes people to pass on the inside, and also causes some people get ripping mad!! This means more road rage, and sometimes poor decisions.
This has been pissing me off for way too long and I am curious if anyone else finds it unusual.

Isn’t the speed limit only 80 ? I always stay in the right lane because most of the time I am taking the Bedford turn off. I don’t want to wait until the last minute to swerve over to get in the exit, doesn’t that seem even more dangerous then just staying in the “passing lane”.
Shit I meant to say left lane…
There’s a sign that specifically states “keep right except to pass”. You don’t need to swerve over to get in the left lane to exit to Bedford. Signal, wait for an opening and then go. Don’t be so damn lazy!
The worst is the people who are headed out to Sackville and stay in the left hand lane the entire way, preventing people like Kirbul from switching lanes to exit to Bedford. Those are the lazy people who need to learn to drive.
Actually the speed limit is 90 and Kirbul is right about the passing signs. Just like on any major highway, people should stick to the right unless passing. The same rules don’t apply for multiple lanes in the city core, but if the sign says to keep right then fucking STAY RIGHT!!
