I agree, that’s in very poor taste. But don’t just bitch here, call them and complain.
What’s even more hilarious is that the clowns who read this bogus magazine voted him TV news anchor of the year 2008. I don’t have the vocabulary to express my lact of respect for the coast and the people who read it.

I’m sorry, but I giggled. Just like i would have seen the attempt at bringing some…light-heartedness to the story. Yes, it’s a tragic, tragic death. Perhaps a bit crass.
I know Treason – I’ve been accustomed relentlessly to hearing ‘another shot’. ‘Another try’ sounds so abnormal. But critically necessary in this situation, nonetheless.
Steve Murphy is not perfect. Perhaps it sounded insenitive from an ethical perspective, but he is a journalist and protected by Rights.
I’m not necessarily agreeing with what was said (yes, I was watching the Idol final also), but I wouldn’t dare start to pillage the ‘messenger’ just yet. The teleprompter is just a script and he was to read from it; I’m sure if anybody else who responds here would do the same if it was their job.
There is a lot more to “the media” and its messages than most think they actually know.
Also: if this is so offensive, why bother writing it on the blog/message board of The Coast? If this truely did offend you, the better way to go would be to contact the station itself and let CTV know that you’re unhappy with what was said. There are departments for this type of issue.
Seriously, LTWWB isn’t going to do much. Contact the station via telephone or their homepage if you really have something to get off your chest.

“take another stab at it…” is a figure of speech that is commonly used in daily and conversational language. you’re acting as if Steve Murphy himself made it a personal point to use it to be a prick and insult the family. like i said, he’s not perfect but he is also a journalist; meaning the man is a professional and wouldn’t dare risking his career by trying to be crass.
