I really don’t get it? Why all of a sudden are there these giant stars on some many peoples homes? What do the signify? I Googled it and found a wiki entry saying that they used to be on German barns but nothing about houses?
No joke…8-9 homes on my street alone have stars mounted to the siding… one house has 3. Is there a new cult that I don’t know about? My sister was just here from ON and she was amazed.
They would look okay if on one house but when every 3rd house has them it is the same as putting a banner on the lawn that reads “this family is completely unoriginal.” Please explain. —Confused about stars

Are the stars 6 pointed or 5?
if you care that much go knock on their door…but then they’ll think you’re a christer. i like the 6 pointers doc^^^
It’s the Stephen Harper Police.
There was another bitch a while back about the same topic. I believe the answer was some of them are related to them being Acadians. Others might be related to family members serving in a war.
It’s because WalMart has them cheap and that makes em trendy to have.
lol@voice of reason
they’re devil worshiping freaks … run away 🙂
some are 6 pointed stars of david, for jewish people, others are the gitsy pieces of dollar store junk left over from christmas. some are made to make the owners feel more at home. others are to ward off evil spirits(these are the unpainted wood ones). but they don’t really work, because i’m still around. still others are to scare away elephants, if you don’t see any in the yards, then they are working.
It means a hooker or “lady of the evening” has set up shop.
Repeat bitch.
Here’s the original bitch:

“It’s crap I tell ya”
If they’re hanging there to ward off evil spirits, then I think that’s pretty neat. If they’re on your house so you can fit in with the rest of your neighborhood, I think that’s pretty pathetic.
i’d hang a baker’s dozen on the house if it would keep the jehovah’s away…but they are too busy smelling their own flatulence
If they are hung on the house as a religous statement or to ward off evil spirits, then I think that’s pretty neat. If they are hung on your house so that you can fit in with the rest of your neighborhood, I think that’s pretty pathetic.
I’d hang a dozen bakers on the house if it would keep the cultists away. Call them “Russellites” Painey; they hate being reminded of the Rutherford schism back in the 1930s.
I had heard the ones littered throughout the valley had something to do with being Acadian.
hey mr. blue how bout that snoop dog? vive l’acadien! i am officially the crazy crow lady ivan, those jebus freaks don’t even make it to the first step on me porch
You’ll always be my favorite crazy crow lady, Painuchka. I used to scare away the latter-days by offering them steaming hot cups of Maxwell House and steaming hot gay sex. Fortunately they were so repulsed by the idea of coffee, they never took me up on the latter. Good thing too! >: 0
teehee…gay sex and maxwell house, the age of persuasion. i have a burning bush on the front lawn, perhaps i could learn to throw my voice and convince them the pasta monster was speaking directly to them…aah so many lines to cross
Maybe you should see a Doctor about that burning bush thing…
I had to say it before LS did…
good one mr. blue, but seriously what about snoop dog wanting to be on corrie st.?
Ivan-the-voyeuristic-eagle-enthusiast: I caught a rare glimpse of all 3 eagles together on the nest today! Seeing both parents there together with the ‘little’ baby is even more sporadic now that he’s big enough to be left home alone for longer stretches of time.
paingirl: snoop dog wants to be on Corrie??? What an odd but curiously inviting combo. Too bad he couldn’t have been on before Blanche’s inevitable departure. What a hoot those two would have been together in the same scene!
He just wants to nail Deidre so she’ll be his smokescreen.
i was thinking liz or sally…*cough*sluts*
hmmmm…you live in the maritimes and don’t know?.. the stars represent Acadian Heritage.
No they don’t. They’re just tacky kitschy bronze stars that were featured in a Country Homes magazine 5 years ago and now every housewife in the universe thinks they’re a great addition to the facade of their cookie cutter homes. They’re cheap to produce and cheap to buy so they’re snapped up like the cherry stuffed timbits at a church social. They seriously come in truck loads – I know a guy who was selling them at flea markets and he made a MINT. So any kind of meaning they might have had had gone out the window. There was never any “Acadian” meaning to them at all. Seriously – they’re in any country decorating magazine – midwest US? Not Acadian in the least. Stupid bitch. Stupid decor.
PS: Sally is TOTALLY Snoop’s type – and then she’d get all dramatic and shit – they could spin that out for at least 6-7 episodes, I’m sure…
I’d do Sally!
They’re placed on the house to denote that there are underage boys available to be molested, there’s the religious slant on that……
