Does it really upset you that people made alternate plans to driving to work on a day that snow was expected? Did you feel lonely on your drive home?
Personally, I enjoyed the fact that some left early and some left late and some worked from home, to make the commute safer for us all.

I showed up for a 13 hour shift and drove home on the shittiest ass hwy clearing that I ever seen in my entire life. Risked my life to pay my bills and headed out in the morning for the same bullshit! Hows that for dedications OP?!?

Employers will dock any employees for hours lost for ducking out due to weather-related depending on the relationship they have with them. Which may be cheaper then getting towed or having your car damaged in an accident.
No, I called in sick. My employer doesn’t have the “ethics” to provide me with vacation days.
