Dear Exhaulted Seeker of the Truth and Exposer of all that is Filth,

Go to http://www. halifaxgasprices.com/ retail_price_chart.aspx (see attached figures) and add oil prices to the chart. Compare the one month and six month view.

For the past two weeks, the price of oil has dropped dramatically. Gas was lock step with oil prices as the oil price rose. WHO IS SCREWING US NOW? Why have the oil process dropped dramatically in the past two weeks and the gas prices have waivered little actually going up. NS does not follow NB or the Canadian average. Why are we getting screwed? Is this because the government had a survey conducted when the gas prices were going up and people liked regulation since they only had to fret once a week? Now that prices or the raw resources are going down, who is filling their pockets? Is it related to the elections? I can not believe that I am the only one that sees this. This has to be big news. People deserve to know. Please make this a story.

The energy crisis effects everyone and it is controversial enough that you can talk it up and get a lot of people paying attention to your media. It influences every industry that the automobile market has ensnared. It could crash the world economy. This is a good story. Please turn this over and expose the truth.

Edit away, make a bitch, write several articles… I am just pissed at everyone!!!!

  1. Come on Moron, please do your research before posting bitches. Gasoline trades as a seperate commodity than Oil. Oil has fallen on the US market and gasoline has not followed. Not to mention the Canadian dollar at one time was worth almost $1.10 US not it is worth 0.93 that is a loss of 12%ish. Also gas did not follow oil up when oil was $60/barrel gas was 1.09 when crude jumped to 145 gas only went up to 144. crude more than doubled and gas went up 30%. Get informed people. All accross Canada gas prices are up by 5 to 18 cents today not in Nova Scotia our prices dropped by a cent. Now does regulation suck??

  2. And another thing go back further on your chart and you will see Halifax has closed the gap with the Canadian average since regulation was introduced over 2 years ago, excluding taxes we are one of the lowes besides Quebec go to MJ Ervin’s web site they conduct price surveys look at historical prices and on the drop down menue go to 2008 – extax. I hate gas prices too but regulation is keeping them lower by not allowing induxtry to pass on increased cost due to transporting the product as well as wages.

  3. Informant, I believe we have clashed before… So riddle me this, the markets opened on Sunday when Gustav hit because they wanted to cash in on higher crude/gas prices, but it backfired. Bloomberg’s commodity gasoline prices went from 300 to 264 cents/gallon in a few days. We didn’t see any relief. Fine, it was a fluke. However the price held rather steadily at 270-275 cents for the week and that Friday NO CHANGE, should have went down. Again fine-ish. This past Monday marked 7-8 days of low gas spot prices, fulfilling the interrupter clause, was it enacted? Nope, ON saw a 7-9 cent drop in prices during the same period. This week again, the price didn’t change much in the Thurs-Wed spread INService NS uses, and there is barely a drop. Using Blomberg’s closing prices, 126.5 should have been the price. Using another closing price site (US government), 129. INService charges us 131.2… Interesting there is a difference, isn’t there? And in the past 2 weeks, the dollar hasn’t changed enough to offset the drop in prices. And now with Ike, ON saw prices go up by 13 cents. How much do you want to bet that the interrupter clause will be used in this direction? I can see Dave Collins crying on TV now (even though we raked in loads on money from you guys in the last 2 weeks, we can’t afford to supply our retailers blah blah blah, wah wah wah…)Just some observations from a fellow frustrated gas buyer.

  4. to the OP of this shit…. as long as i see 15 cars lined up at every tim hortons i pass each morning… fuck you and fuck all those that complain about the price of gas. If you continue to waste a natural resource because you dont get out of your car, fuck you and shut the fuck up.wasteful mother fuckers wanting breaks? FUCK YOU

  5. I am so glad you are smart enough that you understand and are aware of the convoluted way fuel prices are achieved. Explained in an economic sense. Still the fuel prices are total bullshit. And money grabbing greedy cock-suckers are to blame. The OP is correct Prices at the Pump have raised steadily with the price of a barrel of crude. The opposite is not true, the prices did not come down as the price of crude came down. A nd it really doesn’t matter the the fucking process for deciding the price of fuel is. The fact is that is that the prices are Bullshit. I am going the opposite way on this. Do you buy into the convoluted way they arrive at the price of fuel? Because if you did, that would make you a Moron. That means they effectively pulled the wool over your eyes, so to speak. Don’t worry you are not the only one. Many educated people have have been turned into fools. Economic sense and common sense are not the same thing. You think gangsters are bad when they don’t get their money. You fuck with the profit margins of a bunch of wealthy white boys and see what happens. Wars are started, not little gang wars either. The price of fuel can go up to, and likely will, $5.00 per L before most people really start using it wisely and stop wasting it. $250 to fill up a 50L tank, can’t wait.
