What ever happened to, compassion, empathy, forgiveness? What ever happened to doing unto others as you would have them do unto you? What ever happened to saying please, thank-you, excuse me? What ever happened to saying hello to someone who said hello to you? What ever happened to helping someone, anyone who you see is in distress? What ever happened to holding the door/elevator etc. What ever happened to chivalry? What ever happened to, if you have nothing nice to say don’t say anything at all? What a quiet world this would be if people did this. What ever happened to people sticking up for those who are weak and persecuted? What ever happened to black cat bubble gum? —Well?

  1. Search elsewhere for answers. This board is basically old people yelling about ‘dippers’ now.
    Diiiiiiippeeeeeerrrrs!
    Maaaaaaatloooooock!

  2. they just hid shit better in the old days.
    were better at voluntary blindness.

in the old days you could beat your kids and wife as long as you stopped before they died.
….but you opened doors for women and tipped your hat
in the old days gramps could bounce the little girls on his lap and get his jollies and if the little girl balked at his antics, was told to shut up.
…but that was called respecting your elders
in the old days young women didn’t walk around pregnant or with babies in strollers
….because they were whisked away to another town as soon as they started to show and baby was put up for adoption.

we hear more nowadays. stuff is talked about openly. I do believe the anonymity of the internet has opened up peoples urge to spew hatred. but I believe it was there anyway.

all those ‘whatever happened to’s were only skin deep. humankind has not changed, but each of us has more of a voice, and can find others with same views. for good or evil. pedophiles have always been with us. same with saints.

  3. These traits will be exhibited by Larry, Curly and Moe (Dexter, McNeil and whatshisface) until October the 8th, once elected these traits will disappear and it will be up the arse time again.
I posted this to fulfil SG’s prophesy.

  4. The Hypnotist at a Senior Home

It was entertainment night at the senior citizens’ center.

After the community sing along led by Alice at the piano, it was time for the star of the show – Claude the Hypnotist!

Claude explained that he was going to put the whole audience into a trance.

“Yes, each and every one of you and all at the same time.” said Claude.

The excited chatter dropped to silence as Claude carefully withdrew from his waistcoat pocket; a beautiful antique gold pocket watch and chain.

“I want you to keep your eyes on this watch” said Claude, holding the watch high for all to see.

“It is a very special and valuable watch that has been in my family for six generations” said Claude.

He began to swing the watch gently back and forth while quietly chanting

“Watch the watch — Watch the watch —-Watch the watch”

The audience became mesmerized as the watch swayed back and forth.

The lights were twinkling as they were reflected from its gleaming surfaces.

A hundred and fifty pairs of eyes followed the movements of the gently swaying watch.

    They were hypnotized.

And then, suddenly, the chain broke!!!

The beautiful watch fell to the stage and burst apart on impact!

    “SHIT!” said Claude.

It took them three days to clean the Senior Citizens’ Center, and Claude was never invited there again.

  5. What happened to them? Empathy, chivalry and Black Cat bubble gum are all things I need to Google now so I can at least know what they were.

  6. They’re still here. OP obviously doesn’t live down here in the beautiful Annapolis Valley. Probably lives in that cesspool called Haligonia.
Seriously, people are a tad more distracted these days (absorbed in their electronic world) but I do not believe they’re meaner. Your black cat bubble gum reference speaks that you’re seeing the old days through a biased lens, seeing only the positives of a bygone era. I still see some of those posistives nowadays although technology is vastly different, people are somewhat the same. Are things better today than yesterday or vice versa? No, just different.
    IOW what Molly said.

  7. If you think we’re bigger dicks now than in the 40s or whatever decade you’re pining for op, you’re delusional.

It’s just that when you ask what happened to these things it’s like you’re asking where they went. They were never here for many. The’ll never be gone for others. People are always going to be exactly what they are. People.

I like movies too. I just don’t base my expectations on them.
