Well 2 topics that I’d like to mention.
First one i read in the paper was about the RCMP uncovering a Terrorist training camp here in ON.
That’s what the headline said. As I read the article, and realized how misleading the title can be, I started to really wonder if I actually live in Canada anymore.
It turns out that the camp was actually setup by RCMP. They hired an informant who went around ON trying to recruit naive teenagers. The informant insisted on having a professional gun handling training class for the trainees supplied by the RCMP, to avoid accidental shooting since none of the recruits knew how to handle a gun. This is his court statement and court documents obtained by CBC. Finally I get to the conclusion that none of these people were actually terrorists, they were just teenagers that the RCMP entrapped, illegally mind you, since i thought it was illegal to setup such camps. The camp never actually existed. It was all done by the RCMP, training supplied by RCMP, weapons supplied by RCMP, even chantings and music and songs that spread hate was supplied by the RCMP. Even the ring leader was an RCMP officer. Then they arrest them, and claim that these boys actually setup the camp. Link to story is below.

Second story is about food and grossness. I had no idea there were legal horse slaughter houses in North America. People are actually eating horses. With all the abundant food and meat available in North America, people decided to eat horses.
That’s just disgusting!
This article appears in Jun 12-18, 2008.

If someone likes the taste of Horse what is the difference between that or any other animal we decide is acceptable to be eaten? Its all meat.
I was appalled by that story too, being a horse lover! But, meat is meat I guess depending on where you live. The horsemeat from those slaughterhouses is actually shipped overseas to Europe where horse is considered a delicacy.
Why is it disgusting to eat horses, but not disgusting to eat cows, sheep, or goats? Just wondering.
Perhaps you could provide a link to the story of where it was stated the camp was “actually set up by the RCMP.” I’ve gone through a few of the articles associated with the link above and haven’t found anything yet that alleges the camp was RCMP run. Thanks
Regarding the training camp, Coyotex, you are missing the previous part of the story. I’ve been following this story loosely. The informant spent considerable time getting close to the leader – I believe his name is Abdul Quyyam Jamal – before being asked to join the group. The informant had considerable training in the military, martial arts, weapons, etc and that made him attractive to the leader. Once “recruited” the leader had Mubin Shaikh (informant) set-up and lead the training camp.CBC should have done a better job of writing the story. I can see why people are arriving at the conclusion you did if they have not been following the trial. The horse bit….I knew about this and, as I understand it, it is a cultural preference; same as eating pig or cow or dog, etc. IMO, yuck all the way around, but it’s not my dinner.
The article reads, “Shaikh, as an RCMP infiltrator, helped organize and operate it. A video played in court shows him teaching members of the group how to safely handle a nine-millimetre handgun.”If the above is a sample of sloppy journalism I’ll eat my hat (bad spelling notwithstanding). I’m with the OP on this one… this article screams entrapment. As for killing horses for food… what do you think dog food is made of?
Coyotex you fucking troll…
