So we went to the Michael Jackson tribute and it was far from that—let’s just say heard the same three songs at least 10 times each. Cover was $12 advertised but at the door it was $20. I should have stayed home, got more drinks and watched This Is It and MJ videos on YouTube. MJ has been around since ’86 to me and you can only play like three songs? That’s weak… —Pissed-Off Group

  1. MJ has been around since ’86?

    What?

Try a decade or so earlier than that if you’re such a devoted fan.

By ’86, he was getting pretty close to being over, and had fallen pretty deep into the bizarre charicature of his former self that we knew him for in recent years.

  2. “So we went to the Michael Jackson tribute…”
well there’s your problem right there….

I’m not saying he’s bad…. (though even his own song claims he is…..)
but I wouldn’t expect much out of an MJ tribute band in NS.

that’s like going to Nashville to hear a Slayer tribute band.

  3. Wait… you went to an MJ tribute/cover and you’re concerned that 20 bucks was a ripoff? Sorry, 5 bucks would have been a ripoff. You want quality covers, you go to your Hells Bells and such.

  4. If you want a good cover of an MJ tribute, attend the Bishop Lahey court appearance – hey, one ped is pretty much the same as another.

  5. Michael Jackson tribute? That was months and months ago. Why is Halifax trying to mooch off the guy…leave him alone!

  6. An MJ tribute? Why would you even waste money to see that? he’s dead, has been for quite some time, and clearly his family is just trying to milk his name for all the money they can. They’re to get everyone to forget that he was a child molesting freak and loved children a little too much.

Funny how as soon as he’s dead the tabloids view of him did a quick coin flip…

  7. Totally, one day he was a child molesting has-been and now the greatest performer of our generation.

  8. I went to see a tribute to Queen at Dal with Symphony NS last year. Worth the money. Queen Rules!

MJ’s Thriller was the only album (video) I enjoyed.
