Moving to Halifax. I don’t know a soul. I’m a 27-year-old girl huge into snowboarding (I know it’s not a ski-bum town and there isn’t much for riding here). I love my friends, music and life on the west coast, but I’m putting myself somewhere that I don’t know anyone or anything. Want a change…I hear the east coast is so amazing. I love your coffee shops and your culture. I hear the people are the best. But will I survive if I’m a snowboarder at heart? Did anyone else do this? Help, I need some east coast love. —East coast!

You are a snowboarder and you left the rockies? I am a west coaster myself and dearly miss the Rocky Mountains and the skiing I used to do. The places to ski out here are few and far between … and compare nothing to the Rockies.
Once you figure out that Nova Scotians aren’t friendly (they’re just nosy) I suspect you’ll be heading on back to the left coast. Have fun while you’re here though!
good for you taking the plunge and living in new places! every place has its good and bad, but its just a matter of what the person viewing it likes or dislikes.
I came from Vancouver-commercial drive. I wanted dogs, acreage with a beach so I moved across the country.
whether you stay or move somewhere else in a couple years the experience is worth it. expand your life. you sound pretty upbeat – you will find like minded people anywhere you go.
