A friend is visiting from Montreal tonight, I’m taking her to the new Trailer Park Boy movie and out for donairs.. not that I’m complaining, but that really is all we have going for us.

If you had only written 2 hours ago…my daughter had two extra Manson tickets. She took them with her to give away to anyone who was being ripped by a scalper.

What do you all do with visitors? I have a routine… a little tour I give, a couple of restaurants. I’d be curious to hear what others do.
First, I take them to the middle of the MacDonald bridge and tell them about it being cursed…
So in your opinion none of the museums, art galleries, historic sites, parks, restaurants, or events taking place this weekend are suitable places to take a visitor? Get your head out of you ass and show your guest a little of the history, arts and culture our fair city has to offer.
Dont forget to take your visitors for a tour of the waterfront and show them how shitty our city really is

Tim, I basically do the same. For my drinking buddies I make sure to hit the Henry House for Granite beer and decent food and other bars in town that have a good vibe and Garrison and/or Propeller beer on tap. We tour around the city and the shore for scenery and if there’s time you have to hit the Valley/Fundy Shore, the South Shore and Cape Breton to round out the Nova Scotia experience. The highlight for people I have shown around Halifax is usually the not doing anything parts of the trip…like sitting on a patio in town drinking beer or chilling in the back yard having a BBQ. And horseshoe park is totally the best place to make out…except for an out-of-the-way spot or two I know on the fundy shore.
I think it’s pretty safe to say after you’ve hit the submit-a-bitch button that you’ve been “complaining”
Got wheels? Take your friend to Lawrencetown Beach. A visit to Nova Scotia without taking in the ocean (even rent a wetsuit at the surf shop and really take in the ocean) is like wine without the grapes.
No wheels? Take the transit to Fisherman’s Cove in Eastern Passage, enjoy some seafood and include a walk up the road where you can sit oceanside on the shore and enjoy the sea.
don’t forget to introduce him/her to a bottle of keith’s ipa and take a stroll of the harbour for a whiff of waterlogged sewage.
While you are in Eastern Passage, you can hire a boat for a remarkably fair price and be taken over to McNabs Island. The hike is great, there is a ruin to explore and there is a lovely homestead with a garden if you want to picnic.
I second the McNabs Island excursion… I make it over there as many times as I can before the cold weather hits. It’s beautiful over there.
