As Jesus once said, “I’m not touching that with a 10 foot pole.” The Israel/Palestine conflict is far too complex to be simplified using weak analogies. One sentence in your brave thesis, however, is particularly moving: “I have a high suspicion that Israel’s were the Nazis back then”. Bravo. Bravo for saying what we’re all feeling but are too afraid to say – that it was, in fact, the Jews who committed genocide against… themselves. Now, if we could just get to the bottom of why? Why would an entire people work so hard and with such stealth, to obliterate themselves? We would then have our solution, if you will, our final solution, to the Jewish question.
I have strong opinions about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict (I’ll spare you, for the moment), but let’s be clear: when it comes to violence, even at their worst, the people in the middle east have got nothing on the west. It was, in fact, the very western and European Germans who were responsible for the genocide of the jews. It was the British that invented aerial bombardment of cities and the Americans who actually dropped nuclear bombs on cities…But the “these people are worse than those people” arguments bring us nowhere. Peace is achievable in the Middle East, I’m convinced, and I think that most people on all sides know what that peace will look like, at least in broad outline. The only question, imo, is how much blood needs to be spilled before reasonable people on both sides are allowed to implement it. We should be working on ways to get those people in positions to do so, instead of continuing to fuel the violence.
From what I understand, the Hamas target civilians, while Israel targets Hamas. Israel gives warnings to people in Gaza Strip before they attack. Hamas don’t warn anyone.Israel was tolerant with Hamas attacks before, but no more. I support the Israelis to eliminate the Hamas by any means necessary.
It took 11 days for this junk to appear. I guess the poster didn’t have internet at home and had to wait for his grade 4 class to resume to get on the internet and post this.This post doesn’t deserve a proper reply, but may I highlight the following:”Why isn’t the international law arresting Israel.” That’s pretty funny. Oooh look out for the international law, there’s international law in your closet, the international law is coming to get you!!!!
Lets be clear about all this mishegas – Israel targets Palestinians since they turned Gaza into a internment camp. There is a zone around the borders where ALL Palestinians are targeted and shot if they enter and they often are. Palestinian “rockets” are basically home-made (think hobby rockets) and have NO ability to be targeted, they aim as best as they can and fire it. They RARELY hit anybody. The Israelis use laser guided missiles shot from gunships and jets – because Gaza is so densely populated they hit everybody anyway. They say that they “call ahead” to let them know where they are going to strike, but there is no power, no telephone – basically NO utlilities in Gaza because Israel controls that and they cut them off. Palestinians deaths: 550 (1/5th of whom are children) Israeli deaths: 10.Israel is always the agressor; repeat that because its important.
I hope the international law comes to arrest those kids who been whackin’ in ma’ tool shed.
