Recently moved to Halifax and just have to mention that it is the most sexist city in Canada. Their only defense if you point it out is you took it the wrong way. Just because you are too ignorant to acknowledge it doesn’t make it right. My mind is blown coming here. Grow up Halifax!!! And the Nova Scotia Home for Coloured Children? Welcome to 2012, maybe wanna think about changing the name. Good god, where have I moved to? —S

  1. Also, it was an institution run by and for, coloured people…Oh, sorry, people of colour.
If you’re feeling uppity and want to tilt at a real windmill, hop the red-eye to New York and start trapping off about the United Negro College Fund.

  2. Gonna have to be a bit more specific there, OP. How, exactly, is Halifax sexist when compared to other cities?

  3. I’m so pleased that you have chosen to grace us with your presence, let alone to bestow such honours on us. We are eternally grateful and humbled.

Now, fuck off; go back from whence you came; and, don’t collect $200… We can do without your patronizing; we’re big kids now!

  4. Quick show of hands, troops. Who here thinks Ms. “Most Sexistist City In Canada” is the same crunt from Cole Harbour who squawked “Rude, Rude” like a bullfrog with Tourette’s becasue someone neglected to hold a door open for her.?
Better move back to Mississauga’s Arab Quarter, there Germaine Steer

  5. maybe it’s about holding the damn doors open for people. geeze louise, op we need specifics or we will end up with 600 comments all going hither and yon as we border collie our way around the thread trying to round up reasons for halifax being sexist.
and how could you possibly accuse a city of being sexist when it allows women to fart in the faces of their lovers with impunity?
i am feeling a pythonitus coming on.

  6. Thanks for the examples provided in your bitch as to why Halifax is so sexist.

Oh wait, you didn’t provide any.

And nice work on cluing in that the NS home for coloured children hasn’t been in existence for many years (as pointed out above).

    You, S, are a superstar bitcher-writer!

    Here’s a gold star: http://opensourcebridge.org/wp-content/upl…

  7. The name is the Nova Scotia Home for Colored Children – no “U” – never had been never will be …. ‘merican thing …. so don’t blame us

  8. halisux is a blight on the ass of the planet, and as such, i hope it gets lanced on dec. 21 2012, like we’re sposed to. fucking city stinks and so do most of the people that infest it.

  9. And how does sexism correlate with changing the name of the Nova Scotia Home for Coloured Children?

    Perhaps OB, you meant RASICM?

Might I suggest you become familiar with the English language and versed in sexism, racism, etc before making asinine comments? Otherwise, you look like a fool.

  10. Hell OB, what happened some guy look you over & call you a 6 ?
Probably would have given you an 8 if yer tits were bigger.

You want sexist … I can do that ~;p

  11. Halifax is a great place OP. It’s a place where trucks trump bicycles, where there’s no place too intimate for flatulence, where we hold the door unless we don’t, where one can write poems about jackasses that step out on their families, where we provide pretentious latin subtext to a bitch about overweight Upper Canadian politicians, where moms on the bus can wear earbuds and ignore their chillin..ah..you get the idea.

  12. That isn’t sexist, that’s racist. Home for coloured children = redick – tear the joint down already.

  13. There is no need to put “most” in front of “sexiest”. Sexiest implies that the object is most sexy.

  14. You’ve not qualified in any way why you think that Halifax is sexist. Just a sweeping statement and a bunch of posturing.

  15. “You’ve not qualified in any way why you think that Halifax is sexist. Just a sweeping statement and a bunch of posturing.”

How does one become qualified to make an opinion? Do you go to opinion school? Do you apply for your degree in opinionism?

  16. They didn’t say you aren’t qualified, they said you haven’t qualified. Two different things. I took it to mean that they are criticizing the OB for not giving examples or qualifying their statement.

  17. The structure they used is confusing, but I see your point. Still…opinions aren’t usually followed by facts so its illogical to expect sound reasoning.
