To our neighbours who hire someone to complete their renovations ONLY on the weekend: please give us some reprieve! You leave for the weekend and leave your neighbours subject to continuous sawing, hammering etc etc ALL DAY LONG. Could you please have your carpenter do the sawing in your basement – or at a workshop!! We get woken up early every weekend morning with sounds of construction! Every sunny day we want to sit in our backyard or have a peaceful coffee inside – all we can hear is the power saw. What a way to start off your relationships with your neighbours! Hire someone during the week so we can all enjoy what used to be our peaceful close-quarters. Let us enjoy our weekends!! —Your Neighbours

Maybe this carpenter is a friend who can only work on the weekends because they have a day job? Some people can’t afford to hire “real” contractors to do the work for them mon-fri, yet need to have work done anyway. As long as they are working within the by-laws they are allowed to work on weekends. It may be annoying, but it’s their right.
Suck it up princess. It’s called life, and sometimes it doesn’t conform to, your nose in the air little world.
Ahh the suburbs.
Go help, the work will get done sooner, and then you can get back to your peace and quiet 🙂
Yeah, know what you mean. But I hate the sound of gasoline powered lawnmowers and leaf blowers as well.
Have you got ANY IDEA HOW MUCH MONEY YOU CAN SAVE, hiring people to do work for you on the week end for CASH ?!?
Trust me, these guy’s are saving themselves a bundle…good on them, down with the tax man, the Gov has created this problem & people are exploiting it, just as they always have & always will .
It’s during daylight hours so how about stop being a fucking bitch of a neighbour.
Jealous that they can afford renovations and you can’t? Leave the carpenter be. Go inside if you want your coffee and use earplugs. Hope their renovations turn out great.
if they worked on a weekday, you assholes would still bitch about that. i would love to see you try and get a plumber say, on a weekend. and have them say sorry, we only work certain hours, on certain days. suck it up sweethips, and go with the general flow of life. you can’t change, what already is.
ugh.. hopefully it’s short term. I know how much people want to get their renos done. I’m in the middle of a DIY one myself and i’m sure my neighbours want to send me to hell right about now..
record the sounds, and play them back to the neighbor during the week LOL
You sound like the neighbor beside my parents. The bitch reports people’s dogs for barking in the daytime. Even complains about people waking on her yard.
Yet its okay for her to have dogs that bark all hours of the night.
leaf blowers are strange
Here ya go painie 🙂

Hmmm, trying to avoid those pesky safety guys?
“Avoid the pesky safety guy’s ” – Guyute…are you kidding ?
I called them once & asked them to come to a situation on a construction site.
They asked if anyone was hurt.
Whe I told them equipment was being set up contrary to the NS Occupational Safety guidelines. They said there has to be an ” incident ” or we call them once everything is in place & then they’ll come !
=:o
WTF ? ! ? ! ? !
What about being proactive ?
Be glad they’re renovating their place and bringing up property values in your neighbourhood. Halifax is terrible for trying to do anything on your house without pissing off everyone in the neighbourhood -the houses are so close together. There’s always gonna be some housebound nutcase that freaks out at change.
More, Doesn’t surprise me… frightening though. Particularly now.
