what is with those on-line weather sites? One in particular is way off the mark most times, like yesterday when the rain drizzle and fog in Halifax were getting to me, and lo and behold, the Network was showing Berwick at 18C, Wolfville at 17C, and the traffic cam showed blue skies and glorious sun! We jumped in the car, off to the Valley seeking the hot rays, but only a max of 12C and semi sunny skies were to be found. Asking our server at a coffee shop in Grand Pre she said it had been mostly overcast and cool all morning. We had fun but the overstated conditions were all lies! Hopes of heat dashed! Ironically when we arrived back in Halifax around 6PM, the sun was shining brightly, but the Network showed current conditions as fog and drizzle.

  1. don’t use theweathernetwork, they always bloat their temperatures. the government website is much better and hundreds percent more accurate, theweathernetwork get their readings from here:
    weather.gc.ca
their satellite and radar animations are much better.

  2. You can’t see the weather in the valley when you look out your window in Halifax. I agree the government website is the best one to use. Better luck next time!

  3. weather forcasts are basicly people guessing what is going to happen it is not always correct. They base it off today is rainy as will tommrow

  4. Any channel that shows temperature predictions hour by hour and two weeks ahead is pretty fucked to begin with.

  5. yeah, I find they can really only get about 2-3 days ahead with any sort of predictability.
and by any, I don’t mean -9 to +10 with chances or snow or showers and scattered sunshine.

I may not get sunstroke but that’s about it for telling me what it’s supposed to be like out….I mean, how the fuck could you be wrong?

  6. I have found the weather to be way off too. Mostly when the graphics are posted to display rain it is often just 1mm. That is a sunny day in Halifax. Don’t believe the graphics. Check out the weather radar and try environment Canada.

But don’t forget this IS Nova Scotia. If you don’t like the weather- you are a wus. I figure if I am 90% water- let it rain any old time.

  7. not to mention that the weathernetwork is taking their readings out at the airport I do believe.
It could be quite different a half hour away,weather-wise.
