It started with my roommate taking him one night, and then we brought him back a week later, with his name on his forehead. Then, he was replaced by a snowman, then he got lei’d, and then…we thought he could use some culture…so we took him to Montreal with us. My friend was getting her PQ ID renewed, and I was in the bathroom with him, and he toppled into the sink. 🙁

His hat will never be the same, and we are sorry…but he had a great time, and we brought him back with a photo montage of the great times we shared. We (because this has really become a community thing…my friend would love to take him on her cruise next month…) were just trying to bring a little fun into his life—and yours, too.

I guess you’ve taken Jerome into safekeeping for now, but just know our gnome, Paco, is equally awesome, as shabby as he may be. And you will always get Jerome back—safe(r) and sound! —The Metro Gnomers

  1. HAHA! This is awesome. 🙂 I’m friends with the people who own Jerome the Gnome. We enjoyed your photo album, particularly the one labelled “family reunion”.

  2. We love Jerome!! I take it from your post that you returned him? We didn’t bring him in, someone else must have taken him (probably not with the same hilarious intentions you did).

The story (and photo album) were shared with many of our friends and colleagues and they all thought it was amazing.

You guys rock! Tell Paco we say hi.

  3. Dear Metro Gnomers,

You are officially my new best friend(s). We got Petrov this morning, thank you! We will paint him soon (hopefully before you go on your cruise). Because he is so much more fragile we don’t want to put him outside but if you want to take him with you let us know when and where we can put him so he’ll be safe. You can e-mail Jerome-thegnome@hotmail.com to contact us if you wish.

    Have a lovely day!
