I know there’s been a lot of complaints about HRM Transit – but they deserve a bouquet today! I commute from Clayton park to Downtown Mon to Fri and today was no exception. However, today my cell and bus pass fell out of my pocket without my knowledge. Someone found it (not sure who) but a transit employee contacted my husband (from my contacts list) and not only told him they were found, but actually delievered them both to his workplace! Talk about fantastic customer service! Thank You HRM Transit, You Rock!

Your lucky because I had to complain about the same driver again for the same reason, never ends with MT.
*facepalms about the prior comment* More than one driver on the 18, could have been anyone. As for the returning, I once lost a pass and it was too late to buy another. I know the feeling and am always happy when people are reunited with their passes (and other stuff).
Don’t forget, sign that pass.
I am glad to have the drivers that are hired these days. It wasn’t too long ago that the majority of the drivers were ex-military and such–their people skills were not the greatest. I find if you communicate with them (they are people after all), they are much more receptive. Ex.:
I was about an hour’s walk from my home one late, winter night, and my ride didn’t show up to get me as planned. I hadn’t taken any money with me. I simply explained to a driver what happened. He not only drove me as far as he could, he gave me a transfer to make sure I got all the way home. He did say that had I tried to sneak my way on (pennies making noise, old transfer, etc.), he would have kicked me off because that is criminal behaviour and he would have treated me accordingly.
Frankly, I wouldn’t want to have their job–I really don’t know how they face city traffic (cars and people) day after day. And, I think a lot of people of this city feel the same way, as I have noticed a trend that started a few years ago where people getting off the bus have been actually saying, Thanks! Ditto 🙂
