ok, so im a bit of a conservative and sometimes i catch myself “hating” on the NSCAD and indie kids and feel guity. i shouldn’t stereotype. but then i hear things like i overheard yesterday and realize these people leave themselves ripe for parody. I get that you want to start a new “free love” generation, and you want to change the world one recycled pop can at a time, but not everyone in this world is a kind-spirited artist.
While eating my beavertail on the waterfront, i overheard a really mentally unstable panhandler (i know he’s mentally unstable because i see him around frequently using his dog to hold his timmie’s begging cup) telling a story to some poor shmuck. He pulls out a cloth envelope with two postcards inside and reads some feel-good shit about how the writer instructed him on one card to draw or write his hopes and dreams on the blank postcard and mail it to them. it was stamped and addressed. at first i thought that under perfect circumstances, ie in an episode of Hannah Montana, this would result in a quirky, yet mismatched romance or penpalship. but this homeless guy starts talking about how “maybe will go on up to Alberta to see this person” and see if maybe his luck will turn around.
I get what you were trying to do, and i applaud your naive thinking that you can fix the world with these little notes, but good luck to you when that grubby perve and his dog show up on your doorstep, looking for a place to crash.

I’ve seen this man and chuckled at his dog, but other times I saw him bothering some women, so much that a woman had to scream at him to leave her alone because he was following her. So it is creepy that this guy might show up on the postcardee’s doorstep.
Hilarious. Some people are so out of touch with reality, and have such ego problems. What a douche.
Inducing a self fulfilling prophecy by writing a note is a good start, don’t you think? Sharing your position and aligning yourself with like-minded individuals is also a good start, don’t you think? Changing the world begins by living what you want it to become.(imagine what’s they’re gonna do to me on that other thread *sigh*
