To the twit who sat down next to me at around noon at a certain coffee shop at Robie and Spring Garden:
Neither of your friends said something but I will. Upon hearing that a third female, possibly a co-worker, would not be attending your gathering you responded, “What a Hooker”. Seriously, what is wrong with you? What about her actions elicited such a hateful response? I feel sorry for the women who are stuck putting up with you.

Are you kidding? REALLY? Fuck off!
I say this ALL the time to my friends and about my friends. It’s how some friends talk to one another. I often say, “Gah, that hooker!” Surprisingly, no one takes offense. GASP!
I don’t think you should get so worked up about this OP. This is how younger people, including myself, talk to each other. I don’t know why, but we just insult each other on a daily basis, and it’s fun. It’s how it’s always been for us.
You’re allowed to call this person a “twit” though? Alright.
I agree with melectric. Chill out. I’m guessing you come from a specific social background, OR you’re just from an older generation.
I throw derogatory remarks at my friends ALL the time. If I’m ever bashing someone, I probably use swears and derogatory terms far less, actually. Haha.
Now if this person was like, “What a hooker,” then proceeded to go on about what a slut they think she is, why they hate her, etc, then I can see what you’re saying. But, I’m guessing that it was just playful name-calling.
your in a tither about someone being called a “hooker” omfg have you been out in public more than once in the last 10 years; get a grip there Mother Teresa
I don’t see how it is any of your business OP. They weren’t talking to you or about you. Go find your own conversation stop listening to others.
Maybe she is a hooker?
I agree its disrespectful.
IMO younger people don’t have the awareness of just how assinine & juvenile they sound spouting that crap. But then again we’re talking about people who think rap …is actually music.
With a mentality like that, there’s no reason to expect anything better from them.
( I wonder how long it takes those guy’s who’re wearing pants 8 sizes too big, hanging down around their knees to figure out how lame they truely are !?! )
You would have been fully within your rights bringing it to their attention. And they would have been fully within theirs in telling you which bodily orifice to stick it in and precisely how hard to shove. Big boys game, big boys rules.
@More: I hate rap, for the record. But thanks for lumping me into a generalized category because I’m young and say “hooker”.
if it was a private conversation, that didn’t include you, i would just mind my own business. short of getting told off, or to go fuck self, you should not have said a word. you could have gotten a fist in the face.
yeah, it’s all or nothing with the insults… twit isn’t any better than hooker because you’re calling them a name and for the reason behind it.
and kids are getting worse these days with this crap… especially cause they all have mobiles now. constant contact and all..
haha what a hooker that’s funny. This OP is a moron
Oh yeah because not going to a party makes someone a hooker, obiviously it was a joke. You would lose your mind if you heard some of the shit that comes out of my mouth
Someone needs a jalapeno enema.
moi aussi trixy but i like more inventive insults…pillock, troglodyte, dinkasauras
cheer up zZz sweet donkey boy (that’s what i call my dog if that helps^^)
parents always call me Monk
short for monkey
I don’t get it.
Haha wow…I don’t listen to rap (except Will Smith, because he’s my guilty pleasure ;D) and I don’t think that would have anything to do with how I speak. You can understand what I’m saying now can’t you? I’m using capitals, proper grammar and punctuation. Imagine that!
Wow, someone’s sensitive. “poo poo” oh sorry didn’t mean to bring the hardcore language.
To echo those above me,
I call my friends hookers all the time, almost exclusively to their faces, its then laughed off as the joke that is it. I admit it might not be the most endearing term but by no means do I actual think my friends preform sex acts for money.
Why are you listening to someones personal conversation so closely in the first place? If you interrupted my chat to give me a lecture on what I am permitted to say, you would end up hearing a lot of other words much meaner then hooker.
Don’t wait, call the Human Rights Commission now. They need new garbage to spew.
TTFN…I’m propagating some Habanero seeds & my girlfriend gave me some Bhut Jolokia pepper seeds. IF they take , I’m going to have some seriously hot peppers come Sept. !
I read Bhut Jolokia (the hottest pepper in the world) to give you an idea tabasco peppers are 2500 to 5000 on the Scoville Scale of pepper hotness, New MExico University found that Bhut (or Bhot) Jolokia peppers to be at 1,001,304 on that scale.
Would make for one hot enema !
i think those are the peppers that they are going to use as some sort of weaponry
OH OH THE GAZETTE FOLKS ARE BACK!
You should have yelled about “The culture of rape” we all live in.
Shades of Homer Simpson and the Guatemalan insanity peppers, More – holy shit, if I ever try one of your peppers, I promise not to kick the turtle when I trip out.
GoP & TTFN, they use Jolokia peppers for crowd control, slice up peppers drop in tank of water…turn on pump & hose away…& farmers use a paste of the peppers spread on fences & plants to keep elephants away ~:)
I can’t wait to try them .
Hooker? I’ve been called worse things and by better people too!
that scale of pepper hotness was cool (no pun intended) think i’ll have a beer
Groups of friends/co-workers often have offensive terms they use to refer to each other in an affectionate way. Mind your own business OP.
More’s been reading the Saturday comic section of the Horrid. LOL.
do you think being called a hooker, is as bad as being called a cunt, o.p.
This isn’t really “saying something”, OP. There was nothing hateful about the term “hooker”. It’s not like dude called her a ho.
But you’d probably think that being called a garden tool is just confusing.
Jesus. My MOM and I call each other all kinds of nasty names on a daily basis (cunt, bitch, whore, ho) — but it’s all in good fun.
If my MOM and I can carry on like that, I’m sure “what a hooker” to a friend ain’t all THAT bad.
I would SO try those peppers….
love to burn my face off.
Maybe you’ve forgotten this too soon, Coast readers:

Yes, it’s socially acceptable to call someone a hooker. But should it be?
TruthBeTold,
Yes.
