  1. As a hospital casual I feel the same way. I would love to work Chistmas day, because its the only day of the year that I would get paid double time. And that is still less than the full timer is getting paid when you factor in the time off they get for working it. But Christmas day is almost the only day I’m NOT working this season. I’ve heard there are a few places that actually force their full timers to take holidays off, and staff them with casuals because it saves a lot of money. But mostly the regulars work, and rake in the extra cash.

  2. Your’e complaining about time and a half, and a day in the bank??? Get over yourself. I’m VERY grateful to be employed by Capital Health, as a casual housekeeper. (and I’m working on the 25th and the 26th) Try appreciating what you have, since so many others aren’t as lucky as you in their job search… come to housekeeping, our bosses ROCK!!!
