Ok. There is alot of news lately about increasing tensions between Russia and the US. CNN (Fox lite) loves this shit. The thing is; what do we believe; and should we be concerned? Is it sabre rattling; guys shaking their willies at each other? In this world of disinformation; where can people go for the truth? I am an agnostic; and I’m not into the whole “End times” line of thinking. But, do want to say this to them (the ones that have the missiles): fuck-off with that shit and grow up. —Tired of fruitcakes

  1. Put on your Burger King mask and jaywalk while swearing through a megaphone. I hear that really impresses the powers that be.

  2. THE FRUITCAKE

“In this world of disinformation; (sic) where can people go for the truth? I am an agnostic; (sic) and I’m not into the whole ‘End times’ (sic) line of thinking.” Tired of fruitcakes

Of course the answer to the question as to where people can go for the truth is nowhere since, being agnostic living in a world of disinformation, all that exists is untruth. But this is the self-contradiction that lies at the heart of agnosticism: While disdaining being seen as a credulous believer, even in the case of the “End of Times” scenario, the consistent agnostic must still profess his belief, the belief in his unbelief. That is because man, by his nature, must believe in something. Even the nihilist must believe in his own nihilism. To protest that one is otherwise is to be a “fruitcake.”

However, in the meantime while waiting for that End of Times scenario which of course will never come (it’s like Beckett’s “Waiting for Godot” scenario), perhaps you might learn to use the semi-colon properly.

    A pleasure as always,

    Cheerio!

  3. Why do straight men shake their willies at each other? What purpose does that serve? What is its significance? And on CNN no less?

  4. If you think CNN is right wing, you better give your head a shake. Always take what these 24/7 news say with a grain of salt.

  5. 2And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were like those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. And the dragon gave him his power and his throne and great authority. 3I saw one of his heads as if it had been slain, and his fatal wound was healed. And the whole earth was amazed and followed after the beast; 4they worshiped the dragon because he gave his authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast, and who is able to wage war with him?”…

  6. There are wars going on all over the place…
adding one more really isn’t much news.

  7. What constitutes a World War?
How many countries are at war now?
Are we not living in a cold World War?
Just some questions to make you wonder 🙂

  8. Speaking as one who lives in the states, I’m aware of the saber rattling, but no one’s gone to defcon 5 or anything. To be frank, many of us miss the days of the cold war. It was easier having just one enemy, after all.

…and as a dual citizen, when I’m up north, I marvel at all the things a government can do when it’s not spending 80% of its budget on the military.

  9. For 70 years, we and Europe have been able to fund our so-called “human needs” pretty much because of the money American’s spend on defence.

  10. Could you expand on just what you mean by “our so-called human needs?” When do human needs cease being human needs and become something else? What would a “non-human need” look like and how would it descend to the status of being only a “so-called non-human need?” Does that mean that it has become a real human need?
