The owner of the HRM barber shop that got super lucky by jumping on a trend at the right time, does not. I repeat. Does not deserve your business. I’ve heard him shit talk his clients on more than one occasion. He thinks you’re all moron hipsters and laughs about how much money he makes a year off you “losers.” He makes a fool of himself online by sounding off like a child having a tantrum whenever anyone challenges him in any way. I hate seeing this psychopath succeed off the wallets of hard working haligonians. There are plenty of new barber shops popping up, owned by honest, trades people who believe in what they do. —One of the many who hates your guts

Psychopath?! Is he Sweeny Todd?
I can understand that some people would find a guy like that a bit much but, that said, I don’t think he merits public shaming or an organized boycott. He isn’t endangering anyone. If his customers feel they get what they pay for and are treated well then he has fulfilled his side of the bargain. If they find him boorish then they can decide for themselves not to go there.
Serving the public is difficult. I witnessed someone have a meltdown in a store just last week. It was way over the top in relation to the gripe so I can understand how business owners get a bit jaded.
As long as their staff are courteous to me and provide the right service at the right price I don’t care what their private thoughts are. I do agree though, they should probably keep those thoughts to themselves.
Is he a “Gold Medal Winnah”? ha ha. Seriously, folks, stick to real barbers. Phat or Marcel. Those two are the real deal. No beers or hipster chicks while you wait, though. Sad face.
John on Gottingen by Windsor does a great job; traditional barber experience, good prices and and great conversation.
On the outskirts, Purcell’s in Spryfield does a good job.
Also, gotta love Phat!

Today’s bitches are all inter-related. The hipsters need the best haircuts money can buy from the “wanna be businessman” ….otherwise the “office skank” isn’t going to send “sexy msgs” to the office hipster ….. and nobody is going to toss a whole roll of pennies in the tip cup for the “Paul Bunyan look-alikes”. It all has a common thread of understated stupidity. I like it.
The BARBER in The Keiths BREWERY building! #1
The overpriced hipster barbershop thing is a fad that will be dead within 12 months.
