For about 10 years (at least) I have had the same three tunes in my head.Over the Mountain(Ozzy); Get the Balance Right (Depeche Mode) and Collapse New People (Fad Gadget). Whilst it is better than voices telling me to go on a killing rampage(like before); does anyone else have this condition and how did they at least add new songs to the juke a la tete?

Ha Ha! My songs are (according to mood): I Feel Good (James Brown); The Rodeo Song; Take Another Little Piece of My Heart (Janis Joplin); Push (Matchbox 20); and some more I can’t think of right now, including songs I hate but I can’t seem to get them out of my head. I mean, if I could dig Fergie’s “My Humps” out of my head with a spoon, I would give it a go.
Holy shit, I have the exact same fucking problem! I now have the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” theme song stuck in my head (see http://www.thecoast.ca/LovetheWayWeBitch/a… for why). Other songs that have been frequently non-stop playing through my head have been “Paparazzi” by Lady Gaga (which I originally mistook for her saying “Bubba Rossi,” thinking he was an old boyfriend of hers), “Shorty Fire Burning on the Dance Floor” (ohh ooooohhhhhohh!), “Epic” by Faith No More (you want it all, but you can’t HAVE IT! WHAT… IS… IT!), and… wait, I could go on forever and really it would just be me wasting time and not getting to any sort of point. Anyway…
Seriously, this is a serious problem. Back in high school I found it very hard to get through books I had to read for English class because I couldn’t concentrate (didn’t help I took “Advanced English,” either, but only because I was coerced by a previous teacher), and this was a big reason for me taking courses in university that required minimal reading. Might be some form of ADD? It has been suggested or explicitly stated to me several times by several different people that I probably have ADHD. I’m hyper, can’t focus, and don’t shut up. Shut up.
One more thing: that “Sing Your Heart Out” song by The Trews they play non-stop on Q-104 isn’t that cool anymore… even though it can still be fun to “Sing Your Heart Out” to the few lyrics of the song people actually know.
yea i know about those catchy hits that stay in head for a short while; my biggest one was that song : steal my sunshine by len; at least faith no more doesn’t suck like that … thing … lady gaga what is that humanoid
4 words to help you”

try changing the radio station once in a while, OP, and I’ll go ya one better… take a chance on indie music and watch your world get bigger… A LOT bigger.
Sometimes a whole album will get stuck on autoplay in my head. Sure makes those summertime motorcycle trips more musical with something to sing along with! Vive musique! Rock (in all it’s variations, esp. prog-rock), pop, indie, blues, jazz, classical, zydeco, motown, traditional, techno, Newfoundland music, musique Quebecois, hiphop, rap, instrumental, showtunes and torchsongs!
when this happens i do math problems it stops the voices…sometimes
basically,it is a mental condition.and being that, the voices should all be saying hail satan, and kill all humans.but you are only in the pre rap stage and maybe it will pass.(MY MASTER SAYS TO BOW DOWN BEFORE HIM,AS THE END IS CLOSE BY).
I had “funkytown” stuck in my head for, like, 3 years. It was rough times let me tell you.
I have that sometimes.
Like just now it said…there’s 36 minutes before you check the roast !
you want a real stink in your head tune.try the little snuffle bunny song.you know the one i mean.the rabbit with the carrot for jamster tunes to your phone.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g90Bnff-3Q8

blister in the sun: violent femmes omfg i had that tune in my head for years
Snoopy’s Christmas will definitely add some class…
“Let me go wild, let me go wild…” Ooops, did I say that out loud? Sorry Martym…
Ha ha jennier, reminds me of a funny South Park clip:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OrVrrsjqwQ…
Still cracks me up!
Q— and the moral of that SP episode is that we all need to get a little high, right?
One song that gets stuck in my head all the time is “Ace Of Spades” by Motorhead (damn US keyboard setup… can’t get the umlauts). That and the Muppet Show Theme.
HKM…the band-Aid song became much less catchy to me when they changed the lyrics in the 90’s to say “band-aid brand”, instead of just band-aid, in order to stave off losing the trademark…
To this day the jingle sounds forced.
BTW I hope you listen to those jingles on your “iPod brand digital music playback device”, not your “iPod”…They’re at risk to lose their trademark as well if “iPod” becomes an accepted and used generic term…
I think it’s sad tomorrow’s generation will associate a lot of good classic rock tunes with products instead of artists or even the subject matter of the song.
frosty, what do you mean? Tell us more about bandaids. Did Kleenex lose their trademark branding because we substitute the brand name for the product in everyday speech? How about Kraft? Have they lost their trademark license because we don’t call KD macaroni and cheese anymore? Could you be talking about Microsoft losing its rights to Office? If you are I’m thinking modern technologies are something quite different from intangible creative works where “evolution” and licensing are concerned but, to be truthful, I don’t really understand how Bill dropped the ball there. I mean, Office was built on a VB and MFC platform and Bill created both of those technologies! I don’t get it. Maybe when you’re the richest, most successful businessman in the world the protection of your creative works gets to go on the chopping block… just because you’re popular.
Oh please, Frosty, did you see how old those commercials are? I still call it a walkman. = P
funny mr. fever that you get ace of spades i get “no class” shut up you talk too much ….and the chase is better than the catch; gotta love lemmy
the best line i ever heard about a band was motorhead: “Motorheads a band with nothing to say and 10,000 watts to say it with”:)
Hey, Frosty, did you notice a very young James Gardner in the Winston commercial? There was one with the Flintstones smoking too–never saw that one when I was a kid!
kay— they still have a copyright on them, but they’re generic now. We call it a band-aid solution, get me a kleenex, I want some Kraft Dinner, that sort of thing. It’s the ultimate in brand recognition. Apple and the iPod name aren’t really falling into that however. I think way back when the product was first dominating the marketplace, and the only thing like it on the market, maybe. It takes many years for a copyright/trademark to become generic like that, and seeing as the lifespan of a named product line now is slightly less than 10 years, I doubt we’ll really see it. We don’t call playing video games “playing Nintendo” anymore, do we?
1) “Did Kleenex lose their trademark branding because we substitute the brand name for the product in everyday speech?”
Yep. You could have the Halifax Kleenex company if you wanted.
2) “How about Kraft…?”
Um, no…what’s a “Kraft”? 😉 That brand is safe.
As regards Microsoft’s “Office”, their brand is not “office” it’s MS Office, I believe. I hadn’t read too much about this issue, it’s not really a big interest for me (corporate law), but I DO know that Adobe has been sending out press releases and lawyer’s cease and desist letters to any site that uses “photoshop” as a verb, or “photoshopped” as an adj…
Once I got reading about it, I couldn’t stop, lol…it’s hilarious the lengths companies go to prevent brand names becoming “common usage”.
To me, it seems counterintuitive at first – I would have thought you would want eveyone using the name of your product…and you do…AT FIRST….
“”We don’t call playing video games “playing Nintendo” anymore, do we?””
Indeed not…and remember it was “playing Atari” first (if you’re a little older).
This exact issue (as well as the Kleenex/Photoshop) one is described quite well on this cool site, which has a lot of other useless info on it too….as well as confirming the change in the lyrics to the band-aid song.

I love examples where companies have had to change/edit/alter their advertisements due to public pressure.
Check out that site, Kay, it has a LOT of other odd facts about TV/print and the media in general…. (tvtropes.com)
Kay…not sure about the MS thing, now you mention it, I’ll check it out…but don’t you agree that MS/Gates did some pretty unfair business practices?
I mean capitalism is fine, but there’s a reason why there’s laws to regulate it!
And yeah, when you’re the big dog, lots of little dogs want a piece of your bone.
Now it’s Intel that’s in trouble…

That woulda been one hell of a show thou !!! I quess the next best thing was the 90’s with their road side attractions tours headed by the tragically hip – plenty of talent showed up on those week ends – one big stoner fest !!!
I know several drummers who’d like to forget radar love.
