A big warm Shout-Out to the people with signs on Spring Garden/South Park today. The animals suffering in misery in the tiny cages at the animal testing labs at a certain University in Halifax, (Sewing kittens eyelids shut…. Hmm… I assume you mean the medical, veterinary, scientific and environmental research being done in the strictly regulated laboratories at “a certain” internationally renowned university in Halifax called Dalhousie. Hey, OP – you ever use antibiotics? Insulin? Been vaccinated? Needed to take medication for something like HIV or depression? Been cured of cancer by radiation or chemotherapy? Chances are you have, or you will. So take a lap. We’re not talking about cosmetic testing here, like rubbing mascara into bunnies eyes. We’re talking about vital medical research that is highly regulated and reformed. Do yourself a favour and google “animal research and ethics in Canada”. Educate yourself, ignorant consumer.
I highly doubt anyone is sewing the eyelids of kittens shut.
