B** about personal safety. I am having a great time downtown Dartmouth in various restaurants and bars. I’m nervous because I live on the peninsula, and worried that I will get beat up if I let that out. Just mentioning it gets a bad reaction, like mentioning ‘Toronto” on the peninsula.
Is it still ok for me to go to these Dartmouth places? I really like them, but just scared of the people if I tell them I live ‘on the other side’. Why can’t we just get along? —halivisitor

“D’uhh, Stay out of Riverdale!”
The Darksiders still haven’t grasped the fact they live in Halifax East.
I mentioned Halifax inside Humble Pie and someone broke a chair over my back. Great fucking pie though.
I’m from a small, tough-as-nails, working class town so I know of which you speak. Hope this helps – Rule #1: don’t wear any fancy clothing that draws attention to you. Back in the day, going out to a bar while on University break wearing your recently acquired Dalhousie/SMU/Whatever jacket was a sure way to get your lights punched out by a local with grade eight education. Rule#2: always sit with your back to the wall so you can keep an eye out for flying beer bottles, glasses, chairs, bodies, etc. Flying billiard balls are especially to be avoided. Rule#3: be discrete when courting members of the opposite sex (assuming that’s what you are into). Dudes in those bars are very territorial and don’t take kindly to “poachers”.
Other than that have a blast! … and say hello to Ricky, Julian and Bubbles for me.
Man, I remember getting across the bridge onetime and ending up at The Crazy Horse. Shutting down that bridge was the best thing to happen to Original Halifax. Next up, sinking those fucking ferries.
I live in Dartmouth and I’ve never ever heard of anyone attacking anyone for being from Halifax. It seems like a troll bitch to me. No one cares….but we may admire your dedication if you’ve come on a weekend when the bridge is closed lol.
Perhaps the OP just needs better meds and to learn to enjoy the other side vibe.
Have to agree with “voice of treason”. Bullshit nonsense bitch.
lol! I’ve never experienced the Dartmouth nightmare, Use to work there, Get my vacuum parts and filters from there, Bought a microwave off someone there, all those people were nice, I grew up near Quinpool and live in Clayton Park, no problems!
I’d rather go to spryfield
