You had no right to hurl verbal abuse at the cyclist in front of you, you should be ashamed of yourself! He wasn’t breaking any rules and was riding where he was supposed to. So when is yelling at a cyclist or other driver illegal? Please cite the statute.
Verbal abuse and intimidation (because, believe me, people yelling from cars while on a bicycle is intimidating) isn’t illegal and shouldn’t be reported? You can bet if someone was yelling abuse at me on the street I’d be calling the cops on them. It isn’t bad enough that the bad actions of a few cyclists are held up as examples of what all cyclists do, and now even cyclists who are following the rules are getting yelled at by drivers? Just another example of why certain Halifax drivers make me sick.
Sun — yelling at someone in traffic actually ISN’T illegal. Doesn’t make it right, but the cops are going to laugh at whomever reports that.
And honestly? I’d laugh my ass off at it too.

It’s called planning ahead, because you just know the innocent cyclist will at some point fuck a motorist over, ride on the sidewalk, ignore traffic rules – it’s in the spandex they wear – it might be better if they removed the seats and shoved the stem up their holes.

I hate cyclists. I hate the two girls who drive down agricola side by side on a leisurely ride in their rubber boots and prairie skirts. I hate that they do it at 830 am.
The more of these commuter bitches I read the more thankful I am that I don’t have to go to or through Halifax in my daily commute. It’s a lot easier to appreciate the heart of downtown when you don’t have to trod through it every day. OP, cops in this city have better things to do than investigate drive-by yellings, this sort of thing should be handled the old fashioned way and since the cyclist was too much of a punk to stand up for himself, find your own battle to fight. Fuck I’m glad I don’t have to deal with you Halifax assholes in traffic on a daily basis.
